Site Name: UK - London - Brentford Posted Date: Nov 10 2023 Role : Senior Manager, Commercial Pipeline Policy & Advocacy Location : GSK House This is an exciting opportunity to join GSK as a Senior Manager, Commercial Pipeline Policy & Advocacy As Manager, Commercial Pipeline Policy & Advocacy, you will be responsible for developing and delivering an advocacy and government affairs strategy targeting global and international stakeholders, driven by GSK’s commercial priorities, and to maximize the value of GSK’s pipeline. This role will emphasize health systems and health security, with special focus on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and pandemic preparedness. There will be an opportunity to work on both medicines and vaccines policy and advocacy over time. Key responsibilities: Responsibilities to include some of the following: Serve as the lead health security policy subject matter expert on GSK’s Global Corporate Government Affairs & Policy (GCGAP) team, in alignment with GSK’s innovation and pipeline priorities. Build and maintain internal and external network of subject matter experts and thought leaders in the fields of AMR and pandemic preparedness. Responsible for maintaining and evolving GSK corporate policy positions and external messaging relating to AMR, pandemic preparedness, and pathogen surveillance. Contribute to GSK global and international policy and advocacy efforts and coordinate with regional and local teams to elevate health systems and health security policy targets in government agendas and national plans (e.g. National AMR Plans). Coordinate and implement health systems and health security policy priorities in multilateral forums (e.g. G7) working closely with relevant teams across GSK. Coordinate and evolve GSK’s global, company-level AMR strategy and deliver relevant policy priorities, positions, and advocacy plans. Represent GSK on the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) and other relevant national and regional trade bodies focusing on AMR and pandemic preparedness policy. Support CGA global and regional medicines leads, partner with market access, early commercial, and VEO to identify and act on AMR-related policy challenges and opportunities. Represent GSK on AMR Industry Alliance, AMR Action Fund, and related forums as appropriate, driving GSK policy priorities across respective agendas. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals meeting these requirements to achieve our goals: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline Corporate or government affairs experience in the public or private sector, ideally within a major hub of global influence (Brussels, London, Geneva, Washington, DC, etc) Experience leading and delivering policy and advocacy strategies at the local, national and/or global level Experience working with trade associations, preferably in the biopharmaceutical field or the healthcare industry Experience representing organizations in public forums (e.g. conference panels, roundtables, stakeholder forums) Experience of developing, implementing, and measuring policy and advocacy strategies that support commercial objectives Track record of successful people engagement and achieving results in cross functional teams and matrices, and in cross-company collaborations Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Sound judgement, with high personal and business integrity Excellent verbal and written skills, with strong business acumen and understanding of the commercial environment The ability to evaluate and apply judgment in all situations, particularly when handling highly sensitive political situations High personal accountability and integrity Strong experience with business partnering Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills - fluent or native English speaker and writer Excellent interpersonal and “people” skills that allow to work effectively in a matrix team with members that are distributed across the globe Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Demonstrated thinking with ability to efficiently solve complex problems Ability to take a global view with the ability to understand and adapt to regional / local needs and deliver against the business needs with a patient-centric mindset Agility, flexibility and being self-motivated; able to remain focused and achieve goals in a complex matrix organization Role to be based at GSK House in London.
