Site Name: Pakistan - Sindh - Karachi Posted Date: Mar 26 2024 Job Purpose Look after the assigned Utility area including operation, maintenance, and day to day operational activities. Supervise and execute jobs in assigned areas (that may include HVAC operations, Water and Steam system, Effluent Treatment, and ancillaries) in smooth, efficient, cost effective and in safe manner and comply QMS, EHS and Engineering standards & policies and procedures. This role requires cross functional coordination and alignment with the Operational engineering staff working in production areas to deliver the targeted results in Utilities Operations Education, Experience & Skills Bachelor of Engineering or Boiler Engineer or DAE / B.Tech (Mech/Elec) Minimum 5-7 years’ experience Mechanical /HVAC/Electrical/Water Systems Competency and sufficient knowledge of utilities systems, techniques, and methods especially in pharmaceuticals. Good communication/ presentation & computer skills Maintenance activities planned in accordance with regulatory and safety compliance. Negotiation and time management skills Can lead both operational problems and project works. Key Responsibilities Manage and control site Utilities and Facilities to ensure its availability to serve business continuity. Also maintain and monitor budget and expenses to reduce operational cost and meet the budget targets. Supervise safe Boiler operations, meet legal requirements, lead improvements in water systems and chemical treatments. Ensure Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) operations are as per legal requirements and provide support in Site Water Stewardship. Support the implementation of Site Sustainability Initiatives with respect to Carbon, Water, Biodiversity, Waste, and lead initiatives as per relevance. Supervises efforts by internal staff and external contractors to troubleshoot, repair, maintain, calibrate, test, and replace equipment and components for systems such as: Utility supplies (water, gas, electrical), HVAC, chillers, air compressors, water purification systems, boilers, air handling units, Facilities & clean rooms, and exhaust equipment (including Dust Collectors) Leads / Coordinate a team of internal and external resources during developing projects of utilities/facilities. Support Utilities manager to plan Annual Budget and project plans and support for development of site Capex. Planning and executing the activities related to the maintaining and repairing of Physical systems of utilities equipment and effective asset life cycle management. Control and manage engineering supplies and contractual service to ensure satisfied quality, spare inventory, and service level. Carry out Engineering Utilities related Risks Assessment procedures as well as Self Inspections and Conduct/ Review GAP analysis for GESs/ES’s/EP’s (applied to Utilities systems). Ensure that requirements of TP-13 are fulfilled in the concerned area. Ensure changes proposed to plant and processes are suitable for and implemented into the Utilities operation successfully. This will involve liaison with other groups especially technical, quality, engineering and EHS to ensure improvement activities, CAPA and routine operation actions are appropriate. This will include preparing minor capital investments proposals and some elements of project programme management and change control. Develop and define maintenance routines are in place for all items of equipment. Ensure compliance with GSK F268 engineering standards, GSK Global engineering standards and all local standards applicable to utilities (In conjunction with EHS department). Why Us?
