S&P Global Ratings The Role: Research Assistant The Team: Research Assistant is an Individual Contributor, but this position should be a team player building strong relationship with the team. The Impact: Responds to questions from investors and issuers. Participates in meetings and on-site visits with debt issuers and their representatives as assigned. Prepares material for BRC S&P publication and participates in ad hoc projects. What’s in it for you: Under direct management, analyzes routine and some non-routine analytical or business problems as directed; develops own industry knowledge; identifies industry risk factors. This position will have exposure to market leaders and senior analysts, and grow inside the company. Responsibilities: Analyzes a portfolio of simple and medium complex entities with support from manager and senior analyst; Conducts surveillance of rated debt issues and issuer's ratings; may act as a primary analyst for less complex entities. Demonstrates an understanding of rating principal and methodology, a working knowledge of BRC S&P ratings criteria and aids in researching criteria development needs. Contributes to the analysis of credit using BRC S&P rating methodology and standards, Excel, financial models, financial data, and financial statement analysis. Develops and maintains a centralized source of news information, including digital media, and carries out research for industry monitoring including examining corporate or municipal financial technical information. Supports team in spreadsheet and database development, maintenance, and analytics including extracting financial and economic data from source materials and inputting into group/company applications and performing financial modeling. Coordinates with local team to ensure data is treated consistently across industries and ratings. Conducts research for potential new business, articles and improvement in analytical tools and procedures. What We’re Looking For: Basic Qualifications: Postgraduate studies in business related field (and possibly pursuing advanced or business degree) 1-2 years of work experience in financial analysis of financial institutions (brokerage, trust companies, insurance and banks) Advanced Microsoft office tools (mainly Advanced Excel skills) Advanced/bilingual English level (B2 high or C1) Grade (relevant for internal applicants only): 8 The Location: Bogotá, Colombia S&P Global delivers essential intelligence that powers decision making.
