ÞPARTMENT SUMMARY Mechanical engineering fits into the larger New Product Development Engineering organization and encompasses all aspects of the engineering and design of BlueCrest’s hardware products. Mechanical engineering typically takes the lead role in architecting new products and working with product line management to define new product requirements. Mechanical engineers are responsible for fully documenting hardware designs and releasing that documentation to manufacturing. POSITION SUMMARY BlueCrest is seeking an aspiring engineer to fill an Engineering Intern position. Our ideal applicant is a current mechanical engineering student or studying in a related field. While you do not need to have prior job experience, familiarity with common engineering computer programs, such as Creo, MathCAD, Excel and DASY Lab is a plus. You will learn the responsibilities of a professional engineer under the supervision of our more senior employees. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES The successful applicant will work under the active guidance of an engineer on a variety of projects related to high-speed paper handling equipment. Day to day tasks may include: * Participating in project team meetings and design reviews. * Prototyping/concept model development and documentation. * Engineering calculations. * Performing a variety of tests and recording data. * Presenting data and conclusions to the engineering team. KEY RELATIONSHIPS The Mechanical Engineering Intern will be responsible for collaborating cross functionally with our electrical, software, process, and manufacturing groups. MINIMUM: * Currently enrolled in and have completed at least 1 year of credit towards a BSME or related degree program * Willing to work in a hands-on mechanical lab and production environment. * Familiar with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) PREFERRED: * Familiar with CAD (CREO/Pro Engineer a plus) * Familiar with instrumentation/sensors/probes and engineering data collection tools (DASY Lab a plus) * Able to understand mechanical engineering documentation (part drawings, assembly drawings, component specifications). * Familiar with 3D printing (PRUSA printers/software a plus) Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled
