VPS Region NCE represents the corporate product & technology organisation Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) in the 6+ GW p.a. regional business unit Northern & Central Europe (NCE), spanning west to east from Ireland to Kazakhstan and north to south from Norway to Uzbekistan and across the spectrum of Sustainable Energy Solutions with On- & Offshore wind at the core. Our main responsibilities center around technical contracting, technical value engineering, customisation and execution as well as regional product market strategy and product integrity management.

The role of the (Lead) Siting Solutions Engineer is responsible for turbine siting and project optimization, representing Vestas at relevant industry conferences or working groups as well as establishing and growing strategic relationships with engineering counterparts within Vestas& 39; key customers and influential third-party consultants.

Your main responsibilities as (Lead) Siting Solutions Engineer will be to act as an outwards-focused technical customer advisor ensuring we present fully optimized wind power plant layouts and wind turbine configurations on a bid or project request as well as reviewing and optimizing customer proposed layouts. After an intensive onboarding, you will be assigned to Vestas& 39; siting activities mainly in the German and Austrian market as part of the region Northern and Central Europe.

• Develop project specific siting technical solutions to maximize project value while solidly managing technical risks
• Utilize knowledge of Vestas turbines and regional wind conditions to provide expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders
• Identify market requirements and trends to feedback towards the product development team and to promote Vestas& 39; products & solutions within the German and Austrian market
• Enable efficient interfaces between Sales, Technical Functions, and external stakeholders
• Ensure knowledge sharing and collaboration across regional and global siting teams through coaching, mentoring and open feedback
• defend Vestas& 39; siting results and support customers efforts to finance Vestas turbines with third party consultants
• Coordinate targeted internal improvement endeavors that cater to the nuances of particular markets

Qualifications

• M.Sc or B.Sc in Physics, Mechanical, Aerospace or Renewable Engineering including 5+ years& 39; experience in a similar position
• Experience in IEC or FGW standards or wind turbine design, power performance or noise testing
• Great experience in common practice in site suitability assessments within the German or Austrian market
• Knowledge and skills in working with software applications like windpro, additional coding skills are beneficial
• Besides all technical aspects you& 39;ll need to have full customer service awareness
• Solid analytical and methodical skills
• Solution oriented with a clear focus on simplicity
• Fluent German language skills (written and oral)

• High level of communication and negotiation skills with fluency in English and German language required, both written and spoken
• Highly organised and able to prioritize daily work under fast-moving environment
