We’re looking for commercially savvy graduates who are willing to experience a series of stretching rotations within or related to Medical Affairs. You’ll develop a range of essential business skills, whilst building a deep understanding of the Pharmaceuticals industry. Medical Affairs is a crucial function in GSK contributed by medical business leaders that know the patient and the environment; apply our science to shape healthcare; and deliver solutions to close the gap in care. The Medical Affairs team fundamentally serves as the bridge between the industry and its stakeholders via the medical community and in effect act as the medical face of a pharmaceutical company. This function is uniquely tasked with managing external relationships with the scientific community as well as with patient groups, authorities and beyond. Responsibilities in this area are very varied but include ensuring the compliance of both promotional and non-promotional materials in accordance with the local industry code and relevant legislation, running investigator-initiated trials, developing relationships with key healthcare professionals, and thought leaders. The team also run medical education events, develop publications, and provide clinical and technical training about the diseases and medicines internally and externally. Medical Affairs operates within a matrix environment, effectively linking science and commercial activity. Functions that work closely with medical affairs are Sales and Marketing, Market Access, Clinical Trials, Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilance.
