JOB DESCRIPTION: We are looking UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies) Installed Base Services Engineer in REP Delhi (Regional Platform), India. The position will be accountable for working within critical power environments for large organizations, across a wide customer base, demonstrating excellent communication and complete ownership of given tasks., start-up on new installed equipment, testing and commissioning, maintenance and service activities on a variety of different UPS solutions. As a field engineer, you will perform service on critical infrastructure such as data centers, buildings, oil production, industry, hospitals, air traffic and radar etc. to ensure that the customer's critical services remain operational. This is a very varied job with a lot of freedom and responsibility As an original equipment manufacturer of critical power products, the position will be accountable for working within critical power environments for large organizations, across a wide customer base, demonstrating excellent communication and complete ownership of given tasks. These tasks will include commissioning and start-up on new installed equipment, maintenance, service, and repair activities on a variety of different UPS solutions. Also, understand customer requirements to propose UPS solution, perform design documents and calculations. Product training will be given in our academy and access to internal software and applications, you will be expected to utilize technical literature including schematic diagrams, service and maintenance manuals and installation guidelines to complete works to a high standard, following process and working within a team environment covering emergency call out. The main departments you will be working with are: Design/Engineering team, Service coordination, Technical support, Project manager and Tendering teams etc. You will be required to manage onsite activities and supervise installation contractors to ensure best practice. This position is responsible to provide professional services for Schneider Electric customers and technical support/training for service partners, including technical site analysis to resolve customer issues and to perform field service duties on Schneider Electric‘s complete range of electrical distribution products and solutions. Key Responsibility : Service and maintenance for our customers on UPS (uninterrupted power supply) and communication software Construction and start-up of large data centers Support and advice to customers on monitoring and installations The position involves some traveling, but all travel expenses will be covered by Schneider with good conditions Competence/experience with TCP/IP configuration, basic WAN and VPN and understanding of STP/RSTP is a big plus Prepare necessary design calculations, customized testing & commissioning test documentation. technical elements of any O&M Manual, etc. Support Project Technical Lead to integrate UPS system in the overall design and delivery scope Will be responsible for all aspects of the technical elements of a solutions order, whilst working closely with Project Manager and Technical Leader of the project. The aim of the role being to deliver a best in class UPS solution to customer Perform customer FAT testing, Start-up/Commissioning, Preventive Maintenance and Corrective/Unscheduled Maintenance on all Schneider Electric Secure Power UPS equipment. This position is responsible to provide professional services for Schneider Electric customers and technical support/training for service partners, including technical site analysis to resolve customer issues and to perform field service duties on Schneider Electric‘s complete range of electrical distribution products and solutions. Participate and lead in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Perform consulting services at customer site as well as over the phone. Work with customers, contractors, service partners, other members of the team, Sales Partners, Tech Support, and Manager to resolve escalated problems. Document all required information for each site visit performed. Manage installation projects as well as unit replacement when necessary. Educate Schneider Electric customers on basic operation of their equipment. Inform customers of issues which they may have experience with their equipment in a way which is beneficial to the customer as well as Schneider Electric. Must comply with all safety policies, practices, procedures, and cybersecurity Skills and Attributes: 3-5 years’ experience within UPS industry or similar. Professional technical bachelor or equivalent by experience In-depth knowledge of electricity/electronics principles and codes Strong and demonstrable customer skills Very good knowledge of MS Office and being computer literate Good understanding of Schneider Electric An entrepreneur who is flexible and has a positive attitude. Excellent listening & communication skills, ability to influence others and to build strong business networks Proactive and open-minded personality with passion to work A problem solver, able to pull the strings needed to solve customer needs Ability to understand technical issues and quick to learn IT systems Must take international travel around 75% of the time Experience and skills we are looking for: Bachelor or Master's degree in University or similar qualification in Electrical Engineering English language fluent mandatory 3 to 5 years of experience in UPS solution Experience in performing design calculation for UPS selection and propose solution as per project and customer requirements Experience in any competitor range of UPS , Schneider (Secure Power) UPS range experience is an an advantage Confirmed experience writing FAT/SAT Test protocols, Site installation, Testing and Commissioning Willingness to travel up to 75% of time Thorough understanding of all aspects of UPS systems, key components and its applications for IT/Data Centers/O&G/Buildings segments Experience in the production of design documentation & its associated process review. Understanding and experienced in project’s business and environment Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills Understanding of Power Systems / IT products and services Scope and Environment Works both in autonomy and in team work, with contribution to project or service teams' technical solution designs. Works mainly for internal project and service technical teams (i.e. for DPT, DQT, DCT job family codes) along all the customer installation lifecycle, with some direct interaction with external customers related to his/her application domain/subdomain. Commercial responsibilities: In coordination with the Tendering team, Technical Lead and PM, participates in meetings with customers to clarify their needs; identifies technical limits; obtains approvals Able to create quotation tools for calculations/studies Tracks costs and improves profitability of the calculations/studies, considering the cost of both engineering and site travelling if commissioning is engaged Health, Safety and the Environment Understands implements and complies with company HSE policies.
