Summary The Contracts Closeout Specialist primary duty will be to work directly with the Strategic Business Units (SBU) and provide support on their contract closeouts. This requires tracking, preparing, and/or reviewing closeout financial reconciliations and closeout invoices. Secondary duties will be to assist, as needed, in setting up and maintaining projects in the accounting system. Responsibilities Coordinate with internal departments on contract closeout process and status Manage and track status of contract closeouts in Costpoint. Meet with SBUs monthly to discuss status of their closeouts. Manage, file, and organize closeout files. Assist in contract closeout process improvement efforts. Create interim rate adjustment invoices as needed. Prepare contract closeout financial reconciliations. Prepare closeout and retro invoices. Prepare closeout release statements as applicable. Reconcile deobligation of unliquidated obligations (ULOs) from government to our financial/project records. Review draft deobligation/closeout contract modifications from government. Interact with federal agencies (e.g., DCAA, DCMA) with closeout requests. Setup projects and enter modifications in Costpoint as needed. Prepare and distribute contract briefs as needed. No Supervisory Responsibilities Other duties as assigned Qualifications Associate degree in business, Accounting, or related field, and Two (2) years’ work experience in accounting and/or contract administration (equivalent combination of education and experience can be substituted Experience working in Deltek/Costpoint or comparable accounting system preferred. Experience working with a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Outlook, and SharePoint preferred. Working knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and other associated contracting regulations. Understanding of incurred costs submissions, CACWS and provisional/final billing rates is recommended. Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines. Identifies and resolves issues in a timely manner. Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills Excellent communications skills both verbal and written. Excellent organizational and analytical skills Ability to write business correspondence and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Working knowledge of project accounting, revenue recognition, government invoicing types, accounts receivables, accounts payable, and business-related taxes Read and understand accounting and project related reports.
