OverviewThe purpose of this role is to support the project director in the expansion of the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility which is planned for the Western Region in Saudi Arabia. The strategy to develop a world class MRO facility for commercial vessels on the West Coast of Saudi Arabia (Yanbu) is part of a wider strategy to develop one entity that will be the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's National Champion. Supported by a consultancy that specializes in the development of shipyard facilities, the technical SME will work on the development of the facility from feasibility phase, through facility location identification, layout, build strategy, partner selection and implementation. The technical SME will support the strategy team to ensure that technically the strategy identified and then implemented is viable from an operational perspective. Therefore, someone who has worked in the development of large dry docking facilities - in terms of yard development, basic design of the facility, FEED and actual construction would be most appropriate. Alongside this a good understanding of the process required in MRO of large vessels from minor repairs to actual major dry docking is also essential.
Key Responsibilities - Identifying initial project risks.

- Close liaison with the wider National Champion team including other vertical business units and horizontally with supporting stakeholders in strategy, finance, HR, legal etc.
- Preparation of reports for the Company management as and when required.
- Complying with Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements - 20 years' experience in the maritime sector, with at least 10 years spent working directly for the manufacturer and experience working for the operator.
