How to contribute to our vision As a Senior Technician you will be part of a permanently employed dedicated service team. You will be able to lead a team and carry out all of the duties associated with the service, maintenance and repair of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) wind turbine generators. The role will provide you with a challenging and varied role, learning opportunities and a good team culture.
Your key role will be to deliver excellent service and MTBV (Meantime between visits) while ensuring compliance with SGRE internal processes and procedures, relevant Legislation, EHS and Quality.
Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:- Active safety leadership when in the turbine and in the Wind Farm - ensure correct reporting of incidents and accidents, near misses and unsafe acts and conditions. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with SGRE standards and relevant legislation in relation to EHS, Quality and Service delivery.
- Responsible for technical and safety documentation production and management. You will also drive and develop Risk Assessments and Method Statements for work packages / tasks. In addition to Developing and delivering technical and safety Tool Box Talk's.
- Technical lead for the management / delivery of technical queries with Service Technology and field staff.
- You will be responsible for the remote diagnosis of turbine faults and direct technical supervision of critical tasks as required
- Ensure compliance with customer and contractual obligations whilst executing work packages / tasks. Whilst ensuring compliance with site rules and regulations
- Responsible for technician competency development and mentoring both for customer and SGRE technicians.
- May be a specialist or act as appointed Person or Appointed Person Trainer to sign off on the development of individuals
- Lead large teams on site & assign work; accountable for the safety, competency and productivity of individuals assigned to them
- Supervising a Special Project including planning and logistics associated with it based on assignment from Technical Support
- Maintain efficient timescales for delivery of service activities, assist in the creation of daily, weekly plans for site teams as in conjunction with Service Planner / Service Coordinator.
What do I need to qualify for this job?This role requires someone with experience working as a Technician, ideally within the wind industry. You will have experience of working with a large range of contractors and customers, with demonstrable management experience You will have practical experience of working with MS Office applications and preferably SAP, MORS and remote diagnostic tools.
Also;- You must have a B2/C2 level of English.
- You will be a competent individual who is able to work under pressure and Lead a team of service technicians.
- You will have the ability to work shifts at the project location (exact shift patterns tbc). This role also requires you to have some knowledge about health and safety legislations. Ideally you will have a Comprehensive understanding of and a consistent ability to demonstrate your own competency levels as a Technician, Competent Technician, Maintenance Technician and Troubleshoot Technician.
- Please note that this role also requires shift working as per business needs. Further details will be finalised for the shift pattern closer to when the site becomes operational. Due to the location of the role and the role requirements, the successful candidate must have a valid driving licence.
