The starting salary for this position is £40,227 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.
As a CAMHS Senior Social Worker in the LAC Team you will provide consultation and support regarding emotional wellbeing and mental health concerns for children and young people. You will also provide direct support to Foster Carers; bringing a social care perspective to the delivery of support offered by Social Workers and the network.
In this role you will be supporting and protecting children and young people with mental health difficulties, including supporting their placements and Foster Carers by offering a range of interventions including:
You will also be attending statutory meetings in relation to cases where your involvement would be beneficial.
You will use your excellent communication and engagement skills to ensure that the CAMHS Social Work service operates in a safe and efficient way, as part of the whole system of partnership and multi-agency working. Your commitment to partnership working will enable you to establish and promote key relationships.
This role includes close liaison with CAMHS 3C’s in order to ensure that all young people who need support in managing their mental health needs can access this support either in 3C’s or in the community supported by the CAMHS SW. You will play a crucial role in maintaining effective communication between local area children's social care teams and CAMHS 3C’s, using both CAMHS System One and Children’s Services LCS as appropriate.
You will contribute to the development of reflective and systemic thinking within Children’s Services, offering a mentoring role around the identification and appropriate treatment pathways for children experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties.
