The Strategy & Programme Office team is looking to recruit a Programme Manager (PM) to support our Culture Diversity Equity & Inclusion Team (CEDI). The role of the Programme Manager will be broad and varied. They will provide a critical link and alignment of the business area to internal Wellcome teams (including finance, risk, legal, procurement, strategy) to ensure knowledge and information are shared around the organisation and the business area has the tools, expertise and resource it requires to deliver its outcomes

The PM will:
Manage the development and delivery of programme-level milestones with workstream leads across the business area.
Manage the secretariat/administration of any Advisory or other groups for team's work and ensure the governance and delegated authority structures are used appropriately for delivery purposes.
Work as part of Wellcome's Programme Office to share appropriate project and programme management, skills, approaches and best practice.
Support and advise the Senior Leadership Team member and the business area Management team on critical matters related to decision making for the business unit and advise on appropriate course of action to mitigate risks - including working with advisory groups and ensuring the governance and delegated authority structures are used appropriately for delivery purposes.
Ensure alignment with corporate governance including preparation of programme documentation, including all necessary reports (for example; finance, delivery plans,risk registers, Executive Leadership Team and Board of Governors' papers).
Lead Budget management and Human resource planning and allocation for the team, including resource matrixed from elsewhere in Wellcome, and managing recruitment of new team members - supporting the SLT lead to build and manage an appropriately skilled and experience, diverse team.
Skills and Experience:
Experienced Programme Manager, particularly with CEDI initiatives.
Project Management qualifications such as PRINCE II - desirable
Experienced in the use of project management methodologies e.g. Agile, Prince2
Proficient with project planning and management tools
Comprehensive project management experience including managing complex projects.
Experienced with risk management.
Able to demonstrate experience of working within a Programme Management Office
Has strong planning, communication and presentation skills, and is proficient in project quality management
Experience with coordinating competing priorities and multiple stakeholders and able to influence directly and indirectly in a matrix organization
Experienced in planning and problem solving with project management and delivery teams
Communicates in a highly effective manner across a wide variety of mediums to create positive outcomes for all stakeholders
Resolves complex conflicts and disputes elegantly, politically and to the satisfaction of all parties.
Excellent organisational skills, organises and plans effectively creating clarity of expectation for all parties
Meticulous attention to detail including the ability to think in an analytical way with the ability to adapt well to change over the scope of a programme.
