AS&E is seeking an innovative and creative mechanical engineering candidate who possess the passion to make a difference. During the internship, the candidate will work in support of existing product development and/or product support related projects under the direction of a peer mentor within the ME group. Responsibilities The position will involve component research, design, material selection, detailed documentation relating but not limited to electronic packaging, structural design, HVAC specification, and vehicle modification/integration. Qualifications Must be enrolled in an accredited Bachelor or Master of Science degree program in Mechanical engineering. Must reside within daily commuting distance of the site throughout internship. Must be able to commit to a 10-week internship period starting in May or June 2024. Must have experience using SolidWorks or other CAD software. Completed course work in relevant subjects like Machine Design, Statics, Dynamics, Optics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics preferred. Ability to work with limited supervision. Knowledge of engineering principles, both theoretical and practical. Strong problem solving skills. Strong proactive communication skills both written and verbal.
