Marketing Officer – up to 12 months FTC (maternity cover)
We have a great opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Marketing Officer. Bring your marketing experience and creativity to this varied and fast-paced role in medical regulation to make a difference to patients, doctors and other healthcare professionals across the UK.
We strongly believe that diversity of background and experience contributes to a broader collective perspective that will consistently lead to us being a better regulator. We are working hard to increase the diversity of our staff, and also the diversity of those we work with wherever we can, so we actively encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply.
About the General Medical Council
We are the regulator for doctors in the UK. We help to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards and take action when they are not met.
About the role
As a Marketing Officer in the marketing communications team, you’ll work closely with teams across the organisation to plan and deliver innovative marketing plans. You’ll be empowered to use insight and evidence of what works with our diverse audiences, using a variety of channels with a digital first approach to maximise impact. You’ll integrate messages across our website, social media, e-newsletters, digital advertising, publications and events.
You understand what works on different channels to create engaging and accessible user-centred content that’s on brand and achieves objectives. You’ll track and evaluate marketing performance to support decision making on marketing tactics and budget allocation.
To work in a regulated environment, you’ll also need to bring excellent communication, collaboration, and co-ordination skills.
We’re a busy, experienced, and ambitious marketing communications team, working with teams across communications and the wider organisation to support our customers at a challenging time for healthcare. If you have a successful track record in using audience insight to devise marketing communications that deliver results, we want to hear from you.
