Director of People

Part of the Langley House Trust Group, Kainos Community runs Challenge to Change, a pioneering prison wing community and post-release mentoring programme. Clean Sheet is another important part of the organisation, helping people with convictions to find sustainable employment after prison. We are growing and expanding our client delivery models so this is an exciting time to take up our new Director of People role, working closely with colleagues in the leadership team, reporting to our CEO, Tracy Wild. The role requires travel to locations in England, with some overnight stops, plus around 3 or 4 days a fortnight in Coventry where our central services are based.

The Director of People will develop and create a people strategy, ensuring that the values, mission and vision and the Christ centred culture of the Group are always visible. This Director will set good standards in our People work enabling our staff teams to reach their potential and enjoy their work and demonstrate Christian leadership as a member of the leadership team and in carrying out key responsibilities of the post. For this reason, there is an occupational requirement for the post holder to be a practicing Christian (Equality Act 2010)

Candidates will be leaders with significant experience designing and implementing people strategies and transformational change for organisations.

In this role you will be:

• Developing a People strategy to support the entire journey of our people with us, both paid and voluntary
• Ensuring that our values, mission, vision and Christian basis and culture of the Group is integral to People plans
• Proposing policies, processes and positive change theories, working proactively and to provide consistency
• Creating an environment where our people feel valued, empowered and equipped to do their work well
• Leading, developing and coaching your HR, L&D and Communications teams to be the best they can, building a skilful group of people who are motivated and resilient.
• Playing a full part in our leadership team to further Group aims and helping us to lead within the sectors in which we work.
