The Role: Director, Product Management Center of Excellence (PMCE) As Director, Product Management Center of Excellence within Business Operations, you will lead a team dedicated to partnering with Product Managers in Business Lines across the CI division. Location: London, Houston, Denver The Team: The Product Management Center of Excellence team collaborates with around 140 Product Managers across 4 Business Lines, as well as APMO, Digital Product Management and the Product & Commercialization Committee, to optimize processes, standardize practices and ensure effective governance. This small but impactful team supports BL Product Managers across a wide range of areas such as tooling, onboarding & training, problem solving & transformation, defining roles & responsibilities, maintaining the PM community, publication of release notes, building reporting and disciplined operational execution of projects. Responsibilities: Lead a team of dedicated professionals focused on providing end-to-end support to 140 Product Managers across 4 Business Lines. In collaboration with PMO, Digital Product Mgt, and the Product & Commercialization Committee (PCC) develop a vision and strategic approach to streamline and optimize the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC). Collaborate closely with BL Product Managers to understand their unique needs and challenges, implementing standardized processes that enhance their effectiveness. Champion operational excellence by identifying areas for improvement, implementing best practices, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. In collaboration with PMO and Digital Product Mgt, drive the evolution of tools, workflows, and technologies that support BL Product Managers, enhancing the overall efficiency and capabilities of the teams. In collaboration with control partners, and in line with industry best practice, develop, maintain and oversee policies, quality controls and governance processes that ensure consistency, compliance, and high-quality outputs. Support BL Product Managers with onboarding, ensuring training needs are met, and that centralized repositories are used for documentation. Organize/develop KPIs and provide analysis to aid the Business Lines & PCC in making successful product decisions. Create a Product Community across the Business Lines while providing independent strategic input. Standardize the Commodity Communities to ensure they are functioning optimally and share best practices across the groups. Develop and continuously improve product release notifications utilizing different media such as web notifications and video. Host the monthly Product Management Leadership meeting with relevant topics and supporting materials that will lead to successful business outcomes. Ensure operational (excl. tech/data) execution is organized and completed across functions for projects prioritized by the PCC. Review roles and responsibilities of the BL Product Management teams, and across the PDLC, to understand where functions and accountability are held. Create a roadmap for transformation and execute this effort. Play an independent role with the Business Line and Commercial teams by understanding product performance and providing feedback. Support the PCC’s Voice of the Customer workstream (and others as needed) to provide analysis for future product development. Closely partner with the APMO team and escalate any failures of adherence to the Product Governance framework plus critical product deliveries that fall off track or are at risk. What We’re Looking For: Required Qualifications: 10+ years of experience with product and/or project management, ideally within a technology, data, or financial services company. Undergraduate degree required. Experience with managing/leading/creating high-performing teams in different global locations. An understanding of market delivery/content creation platforms and the integrations with other internal systems/databases. A proven track record of delivering projects in collaborative Agile team environments. The ability to present to business and technical audiences commanding sufficient subject matter expertise. The ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines. The ability to engage effectively and credibly with a senior audience. Exceptional project management & organizational skills. Proven ability to build senior-level relationships, to lead cross-functional teams, and to influence decision making. Ability to develop strong partnerships with senior leadership across CI including, Commercial, Technology, Compliance, Risk, Finance and Legal. Significant experience working within a product organization; you understand common product lingo, product development cycles, and can bridge knowledge gaps between technical and non-technical teams. Experience in process mapping, documenting standard operating procedures, and checklists/tools. Agile development skills, experience as a Product Owner (PO) writing user story, managing a backlog. Proactive nature and always seeking to move projects forward. Strong communication skills and the ability to break down complex or detailed topics so that anyone can understand them, regardless of the audience. Thrive in a matrixed and cross-functional environment. Ability to engage in the details and solve problems creatively. Strong judgement/pragmatic approach to product operation with the ability to frame and drive balanced decisions. Preferred Qualifications: Background and expertise with business operations, systems and technology; CRM, or billing systems (e.g. Salesforce, Oracle, Zuora), APIs.
