Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is seeking an Intermediate Structural Designer to join our team in the Calgary office.
Responsibilities:
• Carry out assigned design work as part of a multi-discipline project team.
• Provide discipline specific design and drafting services that meet the Project's, and applicable statutory and regulatory, requirements.
• Produce 3D building models using Bentley ProStructures
• Produce 2D building drawings and construction details for building envelope using AutoCad
• Familiar with National and Provincial Building Code requirements.
• Coordinate and work with project team members, including coordination with other discipline
• Preparing material take-offs
• Managing time and tasks within allotted schedule and budgets
• Performing other discipline duties as requested by lead
Skills / Qualifications
• Diploma in Design and Drafting Technology
• Excellent organizational, technical, writing, communication, and computer skills
• Advanced knowledge and proven experience with modeling and drafting (ex Bentley Prostrutures, AVEVA E3D, Intergraph Smart 3Ds, AutoCad, Smart Sketch)
• 5 to 10 years relevant experience in the Oil and Gas industry
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
• Experience with Architectural Design Projects is an asset
