<div class="mds-edited-text mds-font-body-copy-bulk"><p><b><b>Overview</b></b></p><p></p><p>The Learning &amp; Development (L&amp;D) team at PwC has three main areas of focus:</p><p></p><p><b><b>Strategic Relationships:</b> </b>Working proactively with business stakeholders to establish and deliver their overall training strategy.  This will include identifying strategic priorities and opportunity for efficiencies, considering tech-enablement of L&amp;D offerings, making L&amp;D more accessible and intuitive, and working closely with the wider L&amp;D team to design and implement learning solutions with a strong business focus.</p><p></p><p><b><b>Learning Design: </b></b>A creative team of design experts and authors, responsible for designing and creating all programme content which is available for the business.  This includes technical training to support their day to day roles, but also a wider breadth of professional skills training. They review the effectiveness of the training and also consider how new technologies can be adopted into our learning solutions.</p><p></p><p><b><b>Learning Experience: </b></b>Aiming to provide our learners with the best possible learning experience, the team is responsible for ensuring that our learning programmes are delivered effectively, from strategy through to implementation and evaluation. Made up of Course Managers, Course Executives, Training Coordinators and Event Managers, the team lead on the overall project, risk, financial and commercial management of our programmes. Key responsibilities include managing all logistical elements of our programmes, including but not limited to: planning, scheduling and managing our programmes; sourcing suppliers and venues; building curriculums onto our learner management system; managing supplier relationships; and evaluating and reporting on our programmes.</p><p></p><p><b>About the role</b></p><p></p><p>The team is currently looking for a Lead Author, based from one of our offices across the UK - with scope for hybrid working, both from home and the office. The team are responsible for the business curriculums of: Firmwide, Consulting, Deals and Tax (FCDT).</p><p></p><p>As an FCDT Lead Author, you will  work with the wider Learning Design, Strategic Relationships and Learning Experience teams to deliver highly effective training content and learning design strategies using adult learning principles.  </p><p></p><p>You will work on a variety of projects and initiatives related to learning content within PwC within the UK, this includes the design, development and review of face-to-face or technology enabled learning solutions.</p><p></p><p>However, there are no guarantees on which projects you will work on during your time in the team and a wide range of experience of developing projects and programmes for learners, therefore, is key to being successful in this role.</p><p></p><p><b>Key aspects of the design role will include:</b></p><ul><li><p>Work with the Strategic Relationship team (L&amp;D Business Partners) to understand the requirements of the internal client, and work with them to define the kind of learning that would be the most appropriate using both digital or face to face modalities.</p></li><li><p>Draft and agree scope, objectives, design proposals, detailed design plans, delivery and evaluation in conjunction with the wider Learning Design, Strategic Relationships and Learning Experience teams.</p></li><li><p>Work closely with assigned SMEs (subject matter experts) to define and prioritise learning objectives and to ensure that all final materials are reviewed .</p></li><li><p>Be client focussed at all times – understanding their needs and keeping them in mind when taking actions or making decisions.</p></li><li><p>Review content written by authors and peers </p></li><li><p>Coach and supervise more junior members of the L&amp;D team.</p></li><li><p>Take a role in keeping abreast of latest external thinking and best practice and bringing this expertise to L&amp;D.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><b>Requirements:</b></b></p><ul><li><p>Understanding of PwC’s service propositions and strategy</p></li><li><p>Experience in L&amp;D / training and a suitable knowledge and interest in tools and technology advancements to enhance learning outcomes</p></li><li><p>Passion for creating and delivering highly effective content.
