LEARNING LEADER - MANUFACTURING OVERVIEW: MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the site Leadership & Development Pillar to support Zero Loss Culture to meet technician career progression needs and plant phase progression goals Lead the strategy for developing capability in all site employees to deliver the Compelling Business Need/Mission of the plant Be a business partner with site leadership to improve plant performance Deploy and maintain General Mills Leadership & Development Standard Work Processes and Current Best Approaches Lead and maintain the integrity of the site Training and Qualification system; Oversee the process to develop technical trainers and assessors to build their capability Ensure learning materials, technologies, resources, and facilities are maintained to support the development of technical knowledge and skills that will enable team members to perform and improve Monitor the health and effectiveness of learning initiatives and systems Partner with production teams to identify and systematically eliminate production losses resulting from the lack of knowledge or skills (Work Process Failures, etc.) Maintain training and qualification records system; Ensure compliance with regulatory agency training requirements Monitor and continuously improve Leadership & Development interventions, content, and process Manage learning budget (incl. training grant programs) Contribute to standardization and reapplication of instructional materials within product/technology platforms within the site and across the manufacturing network Collaborate with North America Retail Learning Leader community to share and grow the knowledge and capability of self, peer set, and direct reports Identify, develop, design and ensure effectiveness of site wide Learning experiences (assessment, training, mentoring, coaching, qualifying) that eliminate production losses Use standard curriculum and deploy timely learning to meet compliance standards in human and food safety Use General Mills Leadership & Development standard metrics, processes, and tools to improve business performance Develop learning content/experiences and/or partner with Subject Matter Expert’s to support the development of learning content/experiences appropriate to the roles at site Partner with Organization Effectiveness pillar leader/all pillar leaders to provide learning support that advance career progression for employees Partner Leadership & Development Team with HR Team to assist with employee onboarding, recruiting/retention, and capability building (e.g., internal/external interviews, leader coaching/development, and special projects) Deliver according to multi-year capability development plans set for the region and the site MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Bachelors Degree 5-7 years related experience Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders at the site level Demonstrated agility to balance the development/implementation of strategic objectives and tactical deliverables in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with aggressive deadlines Demonstrated ability to design effective learning interventions to eliminate production losses Experience working in manufacturing environments, with minimal supervision, and significant levels of ambiguity and change Dealing with ambiguity and Change Use of Technology and Process to drive efficiency and effectiveness of learning Project management and prioritization Demonstrates Engaging Leader behaviors Energizes and develops people Clear and concise verbal and written communication Influencing without formal authority Managing conflicts Coaching for higher performance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree Preferred Major Area of Study: Continuous Improvement, Performance Improvement Initiatives, Learning & Development; six sigma, AM/TPM approaches to improvement 8-10 years related experience Certifications in ATD CPTD; Langevin Certified Training Manager or similar COMPANY OVERVIEW We exist to make food the world loves.
