About the Job SUMMARY Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Talent Acquisition, this role will support the organization’s efforts to identify and engage strategic and diverse active and passive candidates for PetSmart and build a pipeline of talent for future openings. A majority of the talent sourcing will be focused on finding candidates for roles at the Phoenix Home Office. This professional will interface collaboratively with Recruiters, HR Business Partners, and Hiring Managers across the business to build relationships, establish rapport and recruit talented professionals to join our pack and build fulfilling careers with a brand leader. In development of the experienced talent pipeline, the incumbent will be expected to proactively partner with and support Recruiters through effective talent acquisition strategies. These include leveraging existing and developing new sourcing methods, tools, and strategies to identify, assess and engage quality talent for current open roles. This role will also build engaged talent pipelines for the Phoenix Home Office. In addition, you will create partnerships with various professional organizations, bootcamps, other skilled training schools, and organizations focused on diverse populations of career seekers. This role is based out of PetSmart’s corporate office in Phoenix, Arizona. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Experienced Talent Sourcing Partners with corporate recruiting team, hiring managers, and HR Business Partners to deeply understand organizational and talent needs Takes an active role in defining and iterating on job descriptions for open requisitions Coordinate and host meetups and career fairs Attend and assist recruiter’s intake sessions with hiring managers to agree upon needs, sourcing strategies, and establish expectations for candidate flow Develops and executes unique and effective sourcing strategies and techniques to find top talent for the organization Consistently generates a healthy pipeline of high-quality candidates, cultivating ongoing relationships with both passive and active candidates to keep them engaged and educated about the organization and upcoming opportunities Identifies, prescreens, and evaluates candidates for open requisitions, managing candidates in process and providing them with a positive experience before transitioning candidate to corporate recruiting team Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) Strategy & Execution Maintain CRM Talent Pool – tag and assign to proper organizational talent pool and be responsible for communicating openings to talent pool candidates Create content and campaigns to potential candidates in the CRM. WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL: A desire to provide a positive candidate experience and help build organizations with top talent A relentless passion to search, find and engage top talent and those “purple squirrels” An ability to build relationships with candidates, communities and co-workers from all disciplines and levels of the organization A hunger for finding alternative methods of reaching candidates and candidate pools A curiosity for testing and refining different recruiting strategies An ability to effectively build and communicate a list of candidate profiles for recruiters and hiring managers Competency in assessing candidate’s resumes and online profiles An ability to conduct engaging and thoughtful discussions with candidates to determine skill set, motivation, and other essential factors matching the needs of the job Knowledge of popular job boards, résumé search sites, D&I resume sources, and deep web search techniques. Cold calling experience with demonstrated results. Relentless drive to find and connect with the best talent Able to adapt to change and/or deal effectively with ambiguity; exhibits perseverance to get results regardless of roadblocks. Must be able to work independently and take initiative where appropriate, exercising good judgment to ensure decisions are made at the appropriate level. Able to demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and applicant tracking systems. EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS: 2 + years of experience sourcing/recruiting, interviewing, and assessing candidates against requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
