POSITION SUMMARY</p>
<p>
There is a requirement to recruit a Drilling Accountant to join our Finance Team in Aberdeen on a 12 month contract basis. The individual will work closely with Drilling, JV &amp; Commercial, Subsurface, Project &amp; Engineering Depts and other internal Finance functions responsible for the budgeting, forecasting, tracking and control of all costs for client operated wells.</p>

MAIN DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</p>
<p>
Support and provide analysis to UK Management, Drilling and JV &amp; Commercial Function on all Operated drilling activities </p>
<p>
Provision of drilling cost controlling for Operated UK based operations</p>
<p>
Prepare AFE's for drilling campaigns and support the communication with JV partners around UK Operated drilling operations </p>
<p>
Provide information and support to asset, JV controllers and Corporate Finance in the assessment of Operated drilling costs for the forecast and budget</p>
<p>
Provide analysis, monitoring and revision of Aberdeen based timewriting to drilling activities</p>
<p>
Participate in Joint Venture Partner OCM/TCM/FCM as necessary, on Operated drilling related matters and update relative UK Finance team member for any impact </p>
<p>
Bring expertise to Asset and Non Op Accountants for the cost analysis, forecasting and planning (eg rig rates, drilling delays, seismic surveys, cost slippage, performance action etc…) during drilling campaigns </p>
<p>
Review and approve drilling purchase requisitions before release to purchase order status</p>
<p>
Undertake month end accruals for on-going Operated drilling campaigns </p>
<p>
Prepare final well reconciliations in line with SOAP </p>
<p>
Participate and host JV internal/ external audits and participate in 3rd party vendor audits if required </p>
<p>
Gather inputs and coordinate with other functions to prepare budget, forecast, Finance Bilateral and BoR submissions for the relevant drilling operations; input and report the data in the appropriate tool and ensure all variances are fully explained</p>
<p>
Follow-up the pending invoices and costs in support of drilling related activities </p>
<p>
Responsibility to keep up to date with any new legislation which impacts on this role </p>

REQUIRED COMPETENCES/ QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / PROFILE</p>
<p>
Relevant Accountancy qualification </p>
<p>
Experience in a similar financial position in the E&amp;P sector with strong understanding of drilling operations </p>
<p>
A solid grasp of all financial topics, in particular Cost Controlling</p>
<p>
An ability to analyze, summarize and comply with tight deadlines </p>
<p>
Good communication skills </p>
<p>
An understanding of/familiarity with relevant governance, SOAPs and JV processes</p>
<p>
A good knowledge of the client IT platforms or similar (BPC, BBC, SAP, Microsoft Packages etc) </p>
