Company: US6469 Sysco Payroll, Division of Sysco Resources Services, LLC Zip Code: 77077 Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor’s Degree Minimum Years of Experience: 5 Years Employment Type: Full Time Travel Percentage: 0 JOB SUMMARY This center led position will report to the Sr. Director of Sales Learning and Development and support the project work, planning, and hands-on positioning of current and future state sales training and onboarding programs targeted to optimize sales performance for the USBL OpCos (operation company). The Sr Manager of Sales L&D (Learning & Development) works together with the Corporate Sales L&D team to support the collective enterprise on project-based task assignments that advance the overall program management of current state sales training programs. This role will be instrumental in supporting current programs, ideation, pressure testing, and pilot management of future programs creating greater capacity in the learning and development structure to support increased program demand from the street and national sales stakeholders. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop partnerships with key contacts at each OpCo (operating company) to execute checklist tasks associated with concurrent multi-market onboarding programs, development workshops, and ongoing sales and sales management development training that foster continuous sales and technology skill growth. Demonstrate results through planning, communicating, onsite facilitation, and follow up on all sales training and simulated activities with reporting observations and insights to the Sr Director Demonstrate capability in multi-tasking past, current, and future class job assignments. Manage current class responsibilities while maintaining a strong presence in the classroom and the virtual online training portals as well as class chatter and reflection groups in Sysco 360 while executing planned activities to support future classes and workshops. Foster open dialog with Market Sales Leads and OpCo Sales LDM (Learning & Development Management) teams regarding training challenges or sales participant performance during initial and ongoing training. Escalate concerns the market lead and Sr Director as appropriate. Demonstrate a willingness and ability to deliver difficult messages when necessary to aid in the growth of sales talent, or communicate performance below the standard. Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality in dealing with personnel matters. Identify and raise awareness of training gaps in the curriculum with Market Sales Lead and Sr Director to continually improve training effectiveness. Stay close to initiatives that drive changes to our existing curriculum to ensure the program content is the most up to date and aligned with our company's mission. Play an instrumental role in the implementation and oversight of pilot programs of center-led sales initiatives and new programs before and during the market roll-out waves. Have on-site leadership responsibility in the absence of a Market Sales Lead to ensure we have ample coverage and consistency of competing for concurrent programs. Advance the development of subject matter expert training teams and individuals that contribute to market-based programs by providing training delivery feedback and content development support. Coach and mentor the subject matter expert teams by observing their sessions, reviewing program feedback solicited of participants to ensure training objectives are being met and subject matter expertise is well aligned. Address challenges and work with SMEs (subject matter expert) or make adjustments as needed to uphold the established content and delivery expectations. Challenge your personal development of facilitation skills by enhancing your knowledge of products, materials, programs and testing new and updated ways to facilitate the delivery of your content to meet the needs of the learners. Provide guidance and support to drive accountability of training programs with participants, leadership, subject matter experts, field support team, and local OpCo trainers to ensure the transition from training into the territory for new associates is supported and the ongoing development of all program participants is supported. Act as a conscious resource. Market and rally participation support of the program from sales management and the Field Support Team community. Maintain a high level of team-based communication and support with Market Lead and OpCo LDMs (learning development manager) in multiple markets. Work with a content team as subject matter experts by providing curriculum feedback and ensuring consistency of programming is being upheld. Collaborate in the design, creation, and execution of face to face course content, distance learning, and development workshop training materials as directed. QUALIFICATIONS Education 4-year bachelor's degree preferred Experience 2+ years of experience training role; equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience working in a project, results-driven or field engagement type role is strongly preferred. Professional Skills Deep understanding of the foodservice industry; intimate knowledge of the MA (marketing associate) and DSM (district sales manager) job functions, company proprietary computer programs, policies, procedures, and Sysco's business metrics. Strong program management, strategic thinking, creative thinking, and problem-solving characteristics. Thinks and acts proactively and directs resources and stakeholders accordingly. Capacity to multi-task and prioritize concurrent projects and programs autonomously to meet established deadlines. Exhibit your working knowledge of all learning platforms, product knowledge, and training materials to support team members and program participants. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications. Demonstrate credibility in your position and professionally represent the program with each OPCO (operating company) and market leadership. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Work Environment A minimum of 45% travel may be required in this role.
