Mechanical Summer Student

<p><b>Overview / Responsibilities </b><br />

Wood is currently seeking a Mechanical Summer Student to join our Mining &amp; Minerals team in <b>Oakville, Ontario</b> who will apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to the organization&
39;s products and services. The Student will plan, schedule and conduct technically engineering assignments requiring judgment, independent evaluation, selection and significant adaptation and deviation from standard techniques and procedures.<br />
<br />
<b>Key Responsibilities:</b><br />
<br />
<b>Engage in tasks related to the one or more than one of the following engineering subjects:</b></p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<ul>
<li>Basic physical sciences</li>
<li>Statics and dynamics</li>
<li>Strength of materials and solid mechanics</li>
<li>Materials engineering, composites</li>
<li>Structures and Materials</li>
<li>Thermodynamics, heat transfer, energy conversion, and HVAC</li>
<li>Fluid mechanics (including fluid statics and fluid dynamics)</li>
<li>Instrumentation and measurement</li>
<li>Hydraulics and Pneumatics</li>
<li>Engineering design and product design</li>
<li>Drafting, computer-aided design (CAD)</li>
<li>Coordinating work with other related discipline engineers and designers</li>
<li>Working closely with supervisor and checkers from start to completion of tasks/projects and in a team environment with other disciplines</li>
<li>Perform other related duties as assigned by management</li>
</ul>

<li>3rd Year Engineering Student, Mechanical Discipline</li>
<li>Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills</li>
<li>Authorization to work lawfully in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required</li>
<li>Knowledge of Excel, AutoCAD, MS Office</li>
<li>*** This is a Summer Position, relocation assistance or living allowances will not be provided for this position.</li>
<li>Candidate must live within reasonable commuting distance from Oakville, ON office or be willing to relocate and live in Oakville area at own expense</li>
