BIM Assistant

<p>We are currently seeking an enthusiastic <strong>BIM Assistant</strong> with specific expertise in BIM software to support our team of designers in our US practice. You will be responsible for supporting on all aspects of training, design and documenting in BIM software, alongside our internal teams which can include theatre designers, lighting designers, stage equipment designers, and acousticians.</p>

<p>You will report to one of our Principals, who will manage your project assignments and workload along with Charcoalblue&
39;s Resources Coordinator. You will have the chance to meet regularly with your line manager to ensure you are fully supported in your role and since theatre consultancy is a specialist field, we will provide role-specific inductions and ongoing training to help you succeed.</p>

<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities</strong></p>

<p>You will provide the following day to day BIM support for our US team members:</p>

<ul>
<li>To work closely with Charcoalblue&
39;s BIM Coordinator to deliver high quality BIM assistance across the practice, in line with industry standards.</li>
<li>To provide knowledge to new consultants and provide assistance and training on BIM software as required.</li>
<li>To support the BIM Coordinator on continual improvement within work practices as detailed through internal audits.</li>
<li>To be compliant in all procedures as per ISO:9001 standards.</li>
<li>To uphold the quality standards of Charcoalblue as detailed within our ISO:9001 standard Quality Management System.</li>
<li>Set up Charcoalblue projects in BIM and add users to projects on our internal hub.</li>
<li>Liaise with Project Team Leaders &amp; Design team BIM manager to ensure team access on external hub projects.</li>
<li>Support the importing of project specific drawing borders as required in CAD and BIM.</li>
<li>Support on the setting up of Charcoalblue models in BIM software, and linking models as appropriate. Charcoalblue projects typically have as many as 4 separate models linked as required.</li>
<li>Support on the setting up of views and drawing sheets in CAD and BIM.</li>
<li>Ensure application of Charcoalblue Revit and CAD standards on all projects.</li>
<li>Management / maintenance of family and block libraries.</li>
<li>Management / maintenance of project &amp; family templates.</li>
<li>Creation and maintenance of CAD templates for all design disciplines.</li>
<li>Offer some CAD support, including developing and maintaining CAD templates for 2D drafting and documentation work.</li>
<li>Downloading of design team models and hosting to internal BIM360 hub.</li>
<li>Updating of linked model.</li>
<li>Publishing / uploading of CBL model.</li>
<li>Creation of Navisworks model for wider CBL review where required (requires user with AEC collection).</li>
<li>Assist designers with technical Revit and CAD issues (across all studios).</li>
<li>Provide additional drafting / modelling resource close to deadlines.</li>
<li>Creation of families and CAD blocks (particularly those from existing product where design input is not required).</li>
<li>Project specific requirements (COBie/ Uniclass parameters, Revizto/ BIMtrack coordination tools).</li>
<li>Other ad hoc BIM related tasks as required.</li>
</ul>
