Senior IT Data Architect

Come be part of something special - start your journey today! <br><br>As an IT Data Architect, you will be a leader within our Data team focused on transforming our data practice into a Data as a Service/Self Service Analytics model. This will require the ability to partner with data analysts and data scientists to deeply understand their needs, while being able to technically communicate and develop a solution architecture that satisfies their requirements.<br><br><b>Responsibilities</b><br><br>1. Data Solution Architecture (75%):<br>&bull; Canonize and implement baseline architectures that satisfy known data requirements in our enterprise<br>&bull; Establish new baseline architectures and identify new technologies for new data requirements from our enterprise that outpace current technology capabilities<br>&bull; Partner with analysts and data scientists to understand their data requirements, to facilitate the development of a solution path that will fit their needs<br>&bull; Perform quality assurance checks on Data Engineers' deliverables to maintain a good quality of product and minimize risk when promoting to Production Environments<br>2. Data Engineering & Development (20%)<br>&bull; Execute and develop along defined solution paths<br>&bull; Utilize data engineering as a means to stay current with contemporary techniques as well as a way to mentor and train Data Engineers<br>3. Data Platform Support & Operations<br>&bull; Develop and lead our Support Operations organization to make them as self-sufficient as possible in ensuring our Data Platform is up, running and performant<br>&bull; Be a point of escalation and expertise in instances where an outage in our Data Platform exceeds the capability of the Support Operations organization <br>4. Leadership <br>&bull; Lead teams of data engineers to develop and deploy data solutions<br>&bull; Find opportunities to mentor and train data engineers and peer architects<br>&bull; Maintain curiosity in the fast-paced market of data technologies to stay current and identify opportunities to improve and contemporize our Data Platform<br><br><b>Education</b><br>&bull; Bachelor's (BS or BA) or higher degree in a technical field of Information Systems and Technology<br><br><b>Hard Skills</b><br><br>Required:<br>&bull; Bachelor's (BS or BA) or higher degree in a technical field of Information Systems and Technology<br>&bull; 3+ Years in a Data Engineering role<br>&bull; 1+ Year operating as a Junior Data Architect<br>&bull; Experience in a cloud infrastructure environnement (AWS preferred)<br><br>Desired:<br>&bull; AWS Data Solution Architect certification<br>&bull; Technical business analyst skillset<br>&bull; Proficient use of Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)<br>&bull; Detail oriented. Seeks out information and resources to share with others. Attention to detail. Ability to analyze, resolve problems, and build solutions in a customer-first environment<br>&bull; Energy and Enthusiasm. Passion for creating scalable, repeatable solutions with a focus on always improving the Data Platform and team members<br><br><b>Soft Skills</b><br>&bull; Demonstrated ability to execute against multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity<br>&bull; Communication: Ability to work effectively with stakeholders with competing priorities, including senior managers and executives. Ability to present complex ideas to a broad audience (oral and written communication)<br>&bull; Demonstrated presentation skills with the ability to assist others to gain clear understanding of expected outcomes and knowledge transfer<br>&bull; Experience in working in different cultures and environments, in a matrixed organization.<br>&bull; Flexibility: adapt and respond to the changing environment and to constructively create opportunities for change through active participation<br>&bull; Hands On: is that professional who makes it happen, does it together and goes deeper into the activity.
