Finance Manager - Canada

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a <b>Finance</b> <b>Manager</b> to join our Consulting business in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, Americas, this role will provide business partnering support to the following Consulting businesses: <br><br>EOI (Energy Optimization and Innovation) - Integrity Management (IM), EOI - Operation Management Solutions (OMS), EOI - Vibrations, Dynamics & Noise (VDN), EOI - Clean Energy, EOI - Rider Hunt International Canada, EOI - Technology and Products, AI (Applied Intelligence) - Automation & Control Service Lines <br><br>The role is an integral part of the respective business unit management teams providing finance and decision-making support through building relationships with the TCS finance team and promoting closer links with Operations. The focus is being a trusted business partner and custodian of the management accounting and statutory financials for the businesses listed above in Canada. <br><br> <b> Key Responsibilities: </b> <br><ul><li> Ownership of implementation and financial adherence with the finance operating model in Canada. </li><li> Ensure that an effective control environment exists through compliance with all Group control frameworks, policies, and procedures as relevant. </li><li> Supervision and leadership of finance team based in Canada. </li><li> Produce a Consolidated Monthly Financial report pack which provides robust commentary to all variances across the TCS businesses. </li><li> Supervise the Canada Finance team reporting deliverables to the business, which include but are not limited to: <ul><li> Project report </li><li> Gross Margin Analysis </li><li> Detailed backlog analysis </li><li> Billability and Utilisation analysis </li><li> Bridges direct and indirect project reports </li><li> SGA Analysis </li><li> DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) reporting </li><li> Other KPI's that may develop over time </li></ul></li><li> Working Capital Management with the aim to improve DSO and optimize cash collections </li><li> Monthly review of balance sheet reconciliations prepared by local team and Houston Central Finance </li><li> Responsible for the preparation and consolidation of all budgeting and forecasting for TCS Business Operations in Canada. This will involve working across the service lines and supporting Service Line Leads, often translating their business strategies into financial terms </li><li> Contribute to the development of Service line strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers </li><li> Support the client bid process, providing costing information and input into sales pricing </li><li> Further input on financial terms obtaining input from commercial and contracts where appropriate </li><li> Work with Operations identifying trigger points where tax input is needed and work with our colleagues in tax to find the most compliant and cost-effective solution </li><li> Compliance with local tax obligations and filings along with tax team </li><li> Identify profit generating initiatives and opportunities that improve financial outcomes </li><li> Be the focal point for internal and external audits as directed, ensuring accurate and timely information upon request </li><li> Provide financial external compliance support to other areas of the Wood business when the need arises </li><li> Where dormant entities exist within TCS and it is under your remit to eliminate these entities as part of the company entity rationalisation plan </li><li> High level of decision influence particularly: <ul><li> Using experience, qualification and judgement around the application of policies and IFRS requirements </li><li> Senior Operational Leadership, Finance and Team meetings </li><li> Good level of persuasion needed when providing financial input and advise to support the business </li></ul></li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> BS/BA Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting </li><li> Certified Accountant (CPA preferred) </li><li> 10+ years of continuous experience in a similar position </li><li> Min of 8 years experience leading a team and managing change </li><li> Ability to manage conflicting priorities </li><li> Solid commercial knowledge </li><li> Advanced user of excel (Pivot tables, formulas, graphs, v-lookups, links between spreadsheets) </li><li> Advanced knowledge of Oracle, Quickbooks, Deltek Vision, Hyperion and Smartview </li><li> Ability to build Smartview ad-hoc analyses </li><li> Experience implementing ERPs </li><li> Strong analytical background </li><li> Self starter, Proactive and Positive </li></ul><br> <b>Personal Attributes:</b> <br><ul><li> Safety & Assurance - Safety aware and promote within the overhead team </li><li> Relationships - Ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with function heads and Americas finance community </li><li> People - Ability to communicate effectively to both Finance and non-finance personnel </li><li> Innovation - Shows strong willingness to challenge processes and seek both improvements and consistency </li><li> Financial Responsibility - Demonstrates strong willingness to question and challenge </li><li> Integrity - Demonstrates strong ethical values and communicates with openness and honesty </li><li> Strong verbal and written communication skills </li><li> Good planning and organisational skills - comfortable working independently, working under pressure and deadline driven in variable environments </li><li> Customer focused - internally and externally </li><li> Ability to discuss issues clearly and concisely at all levels within the organisation </li><li> Ability to work proactively to analyse problems/issues and identify solutions </li><li> Highly energetic, good problem-solving skills and flexible to change </li><li> Presentation to Senior management expertise is required </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
