<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood Mining & Minerals is seeking a Project Risk Manager who will be responsible for identifying and assessing threats and opportunities, putting mitigation plans in place should risks materialize and deciding how to avoid, reduce or transfer risks. If you have a successful track record and are looking for a challenging career while working with experts in the industry, we are the EPCM firm for you. <br><br>This role is based at a project construction site near Gogama, Ontario and the successful candidate will be a key member of an international team during the execution phase of a gold mining project. The role reports to the Project Director. <br><br><b>Key Responsibilities</b> <br><ul><li> Planning, designing, and implementing an overall risk management process and plan for the project. </li><li> Working with other members of the Project Leadership Team to identify risks and opportunities for the project. </li><li> Assessing the potential health & safety, environmental, cost, schedule, operational and other impacts of the risks and opportunities, as well as the likelihood of occurrence. </li><li> Working with assigned Risk Owners to develop, implement and monitor risk mitigation plans. </li><li> Organizing and facilitating periodic risk reviews with the Project Leadership Teams of both Wood and the Client and maintaining the Project Risk Register. </li><li> Risk reporting to the Project Leadership Teams of both Wood and the Client so they understand the most significant risks and to ensure they are aware of risks relevant to their parts of the project and to individuals to ensure they understand their accountability for individual risks. </li><li> Communicating and transitioning of risk related information across disciplines. </li><li> Participating in audits of policy and compliance to standards, including liaison with internal and external auditors. </li><li> Providing support, education and training to project personnel to build risk awareness within the project team. </li><li> Supporting contingency development (e.g. Quantitative Schedule and Cost Risk Analyses), as well as ongoing contingency management. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> 10+ years relevant industry or risk management experience and/or accreditation </li><li> Project management experience </li><li> EPCM experience on mining and mineral processing projects - preferred </li><li> Relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree in engineering, construction management, project management, risk management or other related field - preferred </li><li> Previous experience with risk analysis and simulation software including preferably @Risk </li><li> Risk management experience, including knowledge of risk management governance and controls </li><li> Excellent people management and leadership abilities </li><li> Strong oral and written communication skills </li><li> Superior facilitation and consensus-building skills </li><li> Demonstrated relationship-building skills, with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of positive influence </li><li> High degree of personal initiative </li><li> Strong problem-solving skills; comfortable tackling complex problems and breaking these down into manageable pieces </li><li> Superior multi-tasking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, often deadline-oriented and dynamic environment </li><li> Conceptual and practical thinking and implementation skills </li><li> Process design and analysis skills </li><li> Current authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
