HSE Manager

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is looking for a HSS Manager for a mining project in Colombia. He or she should provide leadership and direction for the HSE department to hire and train qualified expertise into the department, to engage personnel on projects and improve department work processes and procedures. The position will ensure compliance with applicable HSE Management System, Customer Safety Policies, and governmental regulations by supervising the development of procedures and safety plans and ensuring proper execution. <br><br> The role is based in Colombia. <br><br><b> Key accountabilities and responsabilities: </b><br><br><ul><li> Embraces Wood strategic purpose, goals, and objectives and translates these into practical concepts relevant to HSE management </li><li> Leads a team consisting of professional staff </li><li> Teaches problem solving, creative thinking and project planning skills to less experienced staff </li><li> Provides constructive feedback & coaching </li><li> Input to annual department goals and objectives </li><li> Conducting periodic meetings with department staff, to provide top-down information flow about the project </li><li> Ensure HSE Management Systems are monitored and in compliance </li><li> Ensures compliance with audit protocols </li><li> Promote HSE best practices in the office and on projects </li><li> Development of HSE project and department safe work plans </li><li> Support HSE presentation needs to clients (internal and external) </li><li> Ensure HSE related training is applicable to office and project needs </li><li> Promoting occupational Health & Safety at every opportunity and leading by self example. </li><li> Coordinating & Communicating with the management on matter relating Safety & Health </li><li> Monitoring safety performance of Subcontractor </li><li> Carry out : Safety Survey, Safety Tour, Hazard Identification, Safety Inspection, Job Safety. </li><li> Investigate and Illnesses and recommend measures to prevent recurrences. </li></ul><br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b> Qualifications: </b><br><ul><li> Bachelor's Degree in Engineering </li><li> ISO 45001 / 14001 Knowledge </li></ul><br><br><b>Knowledge, skills and experience</b>: <br><ul><li> English and Spanish with a professional proficiency level </li><li> 10+ years HSE in construction projects experience (with at Least 5 Years in Mining Underground) </li><li> Knowledge of HSE standards </li><li> Experience of working in and managing HSE Management system environment </li><li> Proficient in the use of Microsoft office </li><li> Excellent communication skills </li><li> Excellent planning and organizational skills </li><li> Confident self-starter who can work independently </li><li> Knowledge of internal and external audits </li></ul><br><b> Personal attributes: </b><br><ul><li> Must demonstrate a working knowledge of management techniques , department procedures and requirements </li><li> Displays emotional Understands and controls one's emotions with empathy for others and uses these skills to lead others </li><li> Communicates Listens to understand and is able to articulate ideas and complex concepts clearly and convincingly to a wide range of audiences </li><li> Expresses ideas clearly and Seeks to understand others perspectives.
