QA/QC Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for Construction Supervisor - Mechanical with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. Candidate must be able to work on 6/1 days,and preferably residing in Basra,Iraq. <br><br><ul><li>Promote the awareness of Quality principles and concepts.</li><li>Ensure the satisfactory reporting, tracking and closure of project corrective & preventive actions.</li><li>Attend project kick off meetings to provide QA/QC input.</li><li>Provide Quality support to in-country site based engineering team.</li><li>Determine inspection level of product/material.</li><li>Support 3 rd party inspection coordination process.</li><li>Participate in criticality assessment workshops to formalise project inspection level lists.</li><li>Provide input to inspection estimates.</li><li>Assist with evaluation of materials suppliers, manufacturers, fabricators and NDE providers.</li><li>Establish appropriate call off arrangements with 3rd party inspection agencies.</li><li>Manage and raise inspection requests.</li><li>Maintain inspection assignment register.</li><li>Prepare inspection packages for inspectors.</li><li>Assign competent, qualified and appropriately experienced inspectors to inspection assignments.</li><li>Ensure necessary supplier documents have been approved prior to inspection visits.</li><li>Coordinate product/material inspection activities.</li><li>Provide support to coordinate fabrication activities.</li><li>Review inspection outputs and highlight areas of concern.</li><li>Report non-conformances identified by inspectors.</li><li>Liaise with Discipline Engineers with regard to inspection queries, deficiencies & punch list items.</li><li>Facilitate the recall, quarantine and replacement of defective products/materials.</li><li>Support the review of vendor mechanical catalogues & manufacturing records books as required.</li><li>Ensure upload of inspection reports and releases to document management system.</li><li>Regular reporting of inspection status.</li><li>Review and approve 3rd party inspection invoices.</li><li>Liaise with the Client Quality Representative as appropriate.</li><li>Ensure the closure of inspection requirements for project close out.</li><li>Successful roll out and implementation of inspection framework.</li><li>Effective and timely management of inspection activities.</li><li>Robust reporting against inspection and fabrication status.</li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b>Minimum Qualifications:</b><br><ul><li>Degree in Mechanical Engineering.</li><li>CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector Certificate or equivalent.</li><li>Membership of CQI or country specific Industry body (desirable).</li><li>Quality Lead Auditor Qualification by recognized industry body (essential).</li></ul><br><br><b>Minimum Experience:</b><br><ul><li>Minimum 7 years Oil and Gas experience.</li><li>Minimum 5 years in a QA role.</li><li>Minimum 3 years in inspection coordination and fabrication management position.</li><li>Exposure to ExxonMobil Contracts desirable but not mandatory.</li></ul><br><br><b>Job-Specific Skills and knowledge:</b><br><ul><li>Deep knowledge of standards ASME, ASTM, API, NACE, etc..</li><li>Good planning and organisational skills.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office.</li><li>High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format</li><li>Analytical, Problems Solving skills and Systematic thinking.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to work independently with good initiative and interpersonal skills.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to successfully interface and delight the client.</li><li>Ability to work within multi-cultural workforces and environments.</li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
