Applications Engineer

<p>Water Technologies and Solutions has an opportunity for an Applications Engineer with their Purification and Disinfection business to be located in Leonia, NJ. The person in this role will be responsible to provide technical and commercial support to internal and external customers. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, along with an overall understanding of industrial and municipal environments to evaluate customer needs, collaborate with consulting engineers, prepare proposals, and participate in the process of selling the company&
39;s products and solutions.<br />
<br />
<b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p>

<ul>
<li>Prepare budgets, bids, or proposals for internal and external customer inquiries (technical requests, product availability, pricing, etc.)</li>
<li>Size and select equipment for customer&
39;s water/wastewater treatment needs</li>
<li>Prepare preliminary equipment designs including P&amp;IDs and equipment layouts.</li>
<li>Prepare detailed budget proposals and/or contract proposals/bids by gathering details and compiling data to estimate all engineering an production costs according to customer specifications</li>
<li>Prepare documentation and participate in contract kickoff meetings to transfer projects to execution group</li>
</ul>

<b>Core Qualifications:</b></p>

<li>Engineering Degree</li>
<li>At least 5 years relevant work experience in an organization providing equipment and solutions preferably to municipalities, industrial customers, consulting engineers, and contractors</li>

<li>Ability to work independently and in teams</li>
<li>Understanding of project bid and estimating process</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Understanding of treatment systems, electrical systems and controls</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail</li>
<li>Knowledge of the water treatment industry</li>
<li>Understanding of specifications and addendums and translating them from feasibility concept, design to equipment supply, startup, commissioning</li>
<li>Estimator experience in heavy construction or for an equipment manufacturer considered an asset</li>
