Project Controller, Junior / Intermediate

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood performs consulting and EPCM services for many of the world's leading mining companies and is executing world-class projects on five continents. <br><br>Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a <b>Junior / Intermediate</b> <b>Project Controller. </b>Reporting to the Project Services Manager, this position is based out of our Vancouver, BC office. The Project Controller is responsible for project controls activities across a number of mining projects. If you have a successful track record and thrive on challenges in a fast paced environment, this is the opportunity for you. <br><br><b>Key Responsibilities:</b> <br><ul><li> Analyzing and forecasting project costs; project planning as well as developing, preparing, collecting and analyzing schedule and cost data on a weekly and monthly basis to assist the management of the project preparation of weekly and monthly reports </li><li> Creating, analyzing and managing detailed project information related to contractual schedule, scope and cost for submittal to program management </li><li> Reporting project cost and schedule status to management for internal reviews as well as analyzing cost variances and recommending corrective actions for capital projects </li><li> Setting up, tracking and analyzing engineering man-hours and associated costs within Woods management system </li><li> Ensuring all project tasks are identified and resource needs properly estimated for the project. </li><li> On-going maintenance and analysis of a workload forecast tool, used to appropriately allocate project resources </li><li> Preparing or assisting in the development and implementation of project baseline budgets and schedules </li><li> Setting up project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and allocating budgets at appropriate WBS levels for project tasks </li><li> Reviewing project scope change and change order requests for proper justification, schedule impacts, and adequate budget and funding </li><li> Reviewing contractor, vendor, and consultant invoices for capital projects </li><li> Ensuring that relevant cost management procedures and reporting requirements are incorporated where appropriate on invitations to tender </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Undergraduate or Graduate Degree from a recognized university in engineering, quantity surveying, or a recognized business program </li><li> 2-8 years of progressive project services or cost control experience, in an EPC or EPCM environment with a strong focus in the mining industry or other heavy industrial projects </li><li> Proven extensive knowledge of engineering controls, cost control, accounts payable/receivable, planning, scheduling, project reporting as well as procurement/contracts, construction management, and document control and project administration </li><li> Proven ability to work at an advanced level with Excel (index/match/dynamic range functions/xlookup) </li><li> Ability to develop new, innovative solutions to current processes is an asset </li><li> Proven track record of successful project completion on time and on budget </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
