HSSE Specialist

NES Fircroft is seeking an HSSE Specialist to be on-site in Mobile, Alabama.<br><br><ul><li>The position is a contract position for approximately 3 months.</li><li>You must be able to work in the USA without work authorization assistance now or in the future.</li><li>You must be local to the Mobile, Alabama area. This is not a remote position.</li></ul><b>Position Responsibilities:</b><br><br><ul><li>Responsible for compliance with local HSSE legislations</li><li>Execute implementation of Corporate HSSE strategy, KPI's and activity plans in defined region</li><li>Conduct internal audits to relevant standards (e.g.: ISO 14001 and ISO 45001)</li><li>Establish and execute routines for Emergency Response</li><li>Identify and assess risks throughout the site and develop and implement robust control measures to minimize accidents</li><li>Conduct and complete Injury and Illness report with injured team member, Area Coordinator and Team Leader or Manager after completing thorough accident investigation and ensure post-accident drug screens are completed as required</li><li>Act as worker's compensation liaison and participate in quarterly reviews of loss runs and complete and maintain OSHA 300 Log record keeping</li><li>Collaborate with managers, to lead and manage HSSE programs to maximize worker safety and minimize environmental harm and achieve compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations</li><li>Coach, lead, and mentor all Aker employees to achieve HSSE objectives and to support individual employee HSSE knowledge and development</li><li>Directly and through others, implement HSSE practices, procedures, metrics, and systems to create best practices for a safe workplace</li><li>Keep abreast of any HSSE law or regulation changes that impact the organization</li><li>Engage with employees, contractors, and other stakeholders regularly to ensure that the HSSE requirements & specifications are met</li><li>Accountable for leading an HSSE corrective action program which would include HSSE audits, regulatory inspections, industrial accidents, and other assessments that identify HSSE issues that require corrective action</li><li>Accountable for the timely and accurate completion of all HSSE, OSHA, federal and state safety regulatory reports</li><li>Manage systems to maintain supporting records for all HSSE activities</li><li>Conduct New Employee Safety Orientations</li><li>Update monthly Toolbox Talks and Safe Behavioral Audits.</li></ul><br> <b>Skills and Levels Description:</b><br><br><ul><li>7-10 years of relevant HSSE experience with demonstrated progression in responsibilities.</li><li>Desired certifications: Certified Safety Professional and IRCA OH&S Certified Auditor Requires the ability to use specialized software (SAP, Synergi, etc)</li><li>Knowledge of regional HSSE standards</li><li>Understanding of the drivers for HSSE performance and culture</li><li>Analytic mindset Communicative</li><li>Understanding of the Products and Services value chain</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are critical.</li></ul><br> <b>Education:</b><br><br><ul><li>Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering or similar</li></ul><br /><br />With over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil &amp; Gas, Power &amp; Renewables, Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining, Automotive and Chemicals sectors worldwide.With more than 100 offices in 45 countries, we are able to provide our clients with the engineering and technical expertise they need, wherever and whenever it is needed.
