<b>The Role</b><br />

As a Research Administration Officer, you will organise and support the administration of novel funding initiatives and ongoing Award management within the Research Funding Team to ensure that Yorkshire Cancer Research supports high quality research that directly impacts the people of Yorkshire. This includes the planning and delivery of workshops, supporting new Award processes and the development of Award management processes for the delivery and monitoring or impact for research Awards.</p>

<li>Organise and co-ordinate workshops and meetings for the Research, Services and Policy team to support the delivery of novel and existing initiatives. Foster good relationships with external stakeholders and support the Patient Public Involvement of individuals across the initiatives to ensure their input is captured and they are updated on the progress of initiatives as they develop. Provide administration support to ensure Research Awards are effectively managed, allocated funding is used as planned and impact is monitored. Provide effective communications using the variety of channels available to promote and support various initiatives across the Research Services and Policy team. <b>About You</b></p>

<p>To be considered for this role, you will need:</p>
<p> </p>
<ul>
<li>A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline or proven experience of working in a research or health environment in a similar role at a similar level.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Understanding of research funding mechanisms including peer review processes and management of research Awards. Experience of developing and maintaining strong relationships with a broad range of external stakeholders including senior academics and medical consultants and public health experts. An understanding of Patient Public Involvement in relation to health research funding. An understanding of the health research environment and funding landscape. An awareness of UK research governance and issues affecting the research environment and the voluntary sector. An understanding of implementation of research findings into health services and public health is desirable but not essential. Excellent attention to detail, able to carry out tasks accurately, including correct data entry and reporting. Strong IT skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and database management. To be able to develop reports and present complex information to a wide range of stakeholders.</li>
