Senior Cost Engineer

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Cost Engineer based in our Aberdeen offices on a duration of 6-9 months. <br><br>The successful candidate will actively support the Brent Project Manager's team and will be responsible for providing all cost engineering support required for Brent Charlie - the largest and last of the iconic Brent platforms. <br><br>The incumbent will also work closely with other planning/cost engineers in the team who provide cost engineering support to other Brent scopes (Attic Oil Recovery, Subsea scopes) and will be responsible for preparing the integrated cost report of the overall Brent project. <br><br><ul><li> To deliver standard, consistent and robust cost management frameworks and procedures to projects. </li><li> Deliver consistent but appropriate cost management structures for major, complex projects. </li><li> Roll-out of the Company standard tools and processes, as appropriate for each project's life cycle development & execution phase. </li><li> Develop and Implement Project Cost and Schedule Management Plan. </li><li> Implementation of cost breakdown structures (CBS) and their population from the estimate. </li><li> Develop Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and document Cost Time and Resource (CTR) sheets for phased cost estimates in line with the Company guidance notes for agreement and sign-off by the CTR budget holders. </li><li> Provide project guidance for creation of accurate monthly cost reports, identifying variances from the plan on commitment, value of work done, changes and currency fluctuations against approved Authorities For Expenditure (AFEs) / GIPs. </li><li> Develop and implement the change management process for projects. Provide guidance on trend analysis and the assessment of change impacts on cost. </li><li> Develop and implement Earned Value Management process consistently across projects/sub projects. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b> Knowledge, skills and experience </b><br><ul><li> Experience in establishing, managing, and delivering the cost engineering activities for at least one sizable project >$100 million </li><li> Candidate to be an already experienced Cost Engineer with experience in a lead role for a project in execution. </li></ul><br><b> Knowledge, skills and experience </b><br><ul><li> Incumbents to have strong relevant cost experience. </li><li> Proficient knowledge of cost software and related principles, tools and techniques including budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow. </li><li> Proficient knowledge of Project Execution Procedures for Cost Management including Change Management. </li><li> Proficient understanding of WBS & CBS structures and project reporting capabilities. </li><li> Proficient ability to develop project cost budgets and change estimates. </li><li> Proficient ability to prepare cost reports. </li><li> Understanding of change management and associated cost and schedule processes. </li><li> Understanding of earned value application, cost and schedule variance analyses/trending and whatif scenarios. </li><li> Understanding of project management principles and techniques. </li><li> Understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management. </li></ul><br><b> Personal Attributes </b><br><ul><li> Demonstrates commitment to Wood Values, Visions & Behaviours. </li><li> Applies analytical and statistical analysis. </li><li> Ability to work independently and as part of a team. </li><li> Demonstrates effective organisation & planning skills. </li><li> Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast paced environment. </li><li> Strong communication skills both written and oral. </li><li> Uses initiative, experience and a proactive approach to problem solving. </li><li> Ability to guide & mentor others. </li><li> Commitment to continuous improvement. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
