<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood Mining & Minerals business unit currently has an exciting opportunity available for a site-based QA/QC at our project site (mining) in Western Canada. If you have a successful track record and thrive on challenges in a fast-paced environment, this opportunity is for you. <br><br><b> Responsibilities: </b><br><ul><li> Develop and implement the Site Quality Execution Plan. </li><li> Provide QA advice / coordinate proactive resolution of compliance issues (i.e. codes, standards, specifications, and regulations) </li><li> Supervise and provide technical support to the Site QA/QC group </li><li> Monitor the work and worker qualifications to ensure compliance with project requirements (internal; Contractor's) </li><li> Supervise document controls to ensure drawings, specifications and other pertinent documents used for the work are up to date </li><li> Support, or consult in the preparation of the Inspection and Test Plan, monitor the compliance to the ITP. </li><li> Monitor project quality reporting requirements and compliance (i.e. geotechnical / NDE, Contractor their subcontractors testing) </li><li> Monitor equipment and materials to ensure suitability and compliance with project requirements </li><li> Consult, guide on construction work techniques and work procedures </li><li> Issue and monitor to the closure (as required) the non-conformance reports, corrective action reports and preventative action reports </li><li> Conduct audits of Contractor's quality program providing specific, timely, and independent measurement of compliance; complete/communicate quality audit reports to project stakeholders </li><li> Perform inspection checks, verification on quality of workmanship, materials, construction/installation work or as required to ensure compliance to codes and specifications as well as reporting of same </li><li> Assist and support external audits </li><li> Perform surveillance of contractors (sub-contractor) based on work performance (cost/schedule), to ensure compliance to quality requirements </li><li> Manage QA aspect in the sign-off process to achieve turnover </li><li> Ensure the turnover documents are transferred to the project's commissioning program </li><li> Complete progress Site QA reports on agreed schedule </li><li> Assist the Site Construction Manager and Site Safety Officer to ensure planned orderly project compliance to the project contract and company project delivery requirements </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Diploma or bachelor's degree in quality or relevant discipline engineering, or construction management. </li><li> Min 8 years of working experience in construction/construction management with exposure to performing quality control/quality assurance/quality management tasks in an industrial project environment (mining projects will be preferred). </li><li> Excellent communication, coordination and interdisciplinary team support skills. </li><li> High attention to detail. </li><li> Quality or industry certifications are an asset. </li><li> Able to work under minimum supervision. </li><li> Valid driver's license; available to drive to the project site in South Eastern British Columbia </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
