<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently looking for Principal Offshore Naval Architect on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible to provide support to structural engineering activities to Wood projects currently under way, as well as acting as originator for selected engineering deliverables (specifications, procedures, computer analyses, calculations, and structural design reports), whilst following all operational procedures. The role will be based in Staines. <br><ul><li> Coordinates with all disciplines (as necessary) in the preparation and development of the above </li><li> Undertakes Static and dynamic Naval Architectural Analysis associated with offshore platform transportation and installation of jackets and topsides </li><li> Prepare specifications for installation activities and equipment - including for float-over installation/mating. </li><li> Identify and recommend available vessels for transportation and installation operations. </li><li> Assess transportation routes and recommend applicable design criteria. </li><li> Make recommendations for alternative installation concepts and arrangements </li><li> Ensures compliance with specifications as well as applicable code requirements and national / international standards. </li><li> Support Client in specifying requirements for transportation and installation. </li><li> Prepares or checks design reports to fully document transportation and installation design to demonstrate compliance with design codes and specifications </li><li> Reviews relevant client provided data for transportation and installation implications and requirements </li><li> Reports on work status / problem areas / needs </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Master's Degree or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject. </li><li> Chartered Engineer and member of appropriate engineering institution </li><li> Experience in offshore substructure engineering and analysis </li><li> Experience with use of MOSES, ANSYS-AQWA and SACS, and other applicable naval architectural software. </li><li> Experience with analyzing a range of offshore installation methods including lifting, launching, float-over, etc. </li><li> Willing to be part of a team, but also have a flexible approach when required to work in small groups </li><li> Concept and FEED experience </li><li> Co-operative attitude </li><li> Effective communicator </li><li> Flexible worker </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
