<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for HSEAdvisor to strengthen our team in Dubai. This is an office based position with occasional requirement to visit Iraq. <br><br>The contract is for 1 year, renewable annually based on business needs. <br><br><ul><li> Recommend effective preventative actions in all areas of work including reporting of all incidents and near misses </li><li> Engage with operational staff to identify high risk activities and HSE support; </li><li> Promote HSE objectives and initiatives </li><li> Encourage and promote use of the safety observation systems </li><li> Provide HSE training to Wood employees </li><li> Ensure thorough compliance to the HSE Management System </li><li> Conduct inductions with new starts </li><li> Deliver HSE Trainings for site based personnel and travellers, as required </li><li> Actively engage and communicate with operations and contractor personnel to educate occupational hazard awareness </li><li> Supporting HSE incident investigations and undertaking the appropriate reporting requirements </li><li> Ensuring the project emergency response arrangements are in place and are communicated to all personnel; ensuring that project requirements align with Client requirements if these take precedence. </li><li> Engages with all levels of relevant business and client organisation </li><li> Promote the awareness of HSE Initiatives to improve HSE Awareness and performance; </li><li> Mentor and develop HSE capabilities of the team </li><li> Ensure that planned project HSE Assurance activities are executed in accordance with the plan; </li><li> Assist in the maintenance, documentation and deployment of the WOOD HSE management system </li><li> Supports the development of HSE schedules such as audit plans, HSE Improvement Plans </li><li> Executes assurance activities in line with the plans </li><li> Effectively using and maintaining the Wood CAIRS database </li><li> Uses HSE training tools to support and facilitate HSE competence within the organisation; </li><li> Assist in compilining the information required for monthly reporting of HSE indicators </li><li> Encourage participation in the HSE Observation programmes </li><li> Mentor and coach the workforce on HSE Behaviours and expectations in line with the Wood Behavioural Standard </li><li> Demonstrable improvement of HSE performance </li><li> Conduct occasional visits to Iraq to support Iraqi HSE Advisors as required </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> HSE Qualification by recognised industry body (essential) </li><li> 5 years minimum Occupational health and Safety in Industrial Services environment </li><li> Good organistational skills </li><li> Previous experience in a similar hands-on capacity </li><li> Previous site based experience is highly desirable </li><li> Previous experience in HSE training, PtW, H2S, CSE, W@H is desirable </li><li> Commitment to improving the HSE culture in the organisation </li><li> Commitment to overall quality, Safety and Assurance and the need to reduce incidents within the organisation (Safety, Business, quality and technical) </li><li> Very good interpersonal skills </li><li> Clear written and verbal communication skills </li><li> Integrity and trust, compassion and respect </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
