Quality Assurance & Test Engineer (Software)

<p>Our client is looking for a Quality Assurance & Test Engineer (Software) for a permanent position, located in Gloucester.</p>

<p><strong>ROLE</strong></p>

<p>We are seeking a professional QA & Test Engineer with experience in developing and execution of automated software test. The opportunity is based in the Gloucestershire area focusing on creation of scalable and optimized test systems for oil and gas drilling and measurement tools. Successful candidates will be working with a co-located team of 20+ experienced engineers, including other software professionals within a larger multifunctional engineering team. The software teams' work has a meaningful impact on the business/industry, which offers good visibility and technical career progression within the company. </p>

<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>

<ul>
<li>Design and create automated tests</li>
<li>Review design documentation and tests of other team members</li>
<li>Gather test requirements from Stakeholders</li>
<li>Collaborate with other disciplines and with other engineering projects</li>
<li>Help maintain Continuous Integration infrastructure: VMs, Build definitions</li>
<li>Perform tests and troubleshooting in deployed testing environments</li>
<li>Communicate effectively with other team members</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>

<ul>
<li>Proven working experience in software test engineering</li>
<li>Proven ability to design functional tests from Requirements / High-level design documents</li>
<li>Proven ability to work with firmware engineers to identify and resolve issues</li>
<li>Experience in hands-on test development and troubleshooting</li>
<li>Experience with C
language and shell scripting (PowerShell)</li>
<li>Familiarity with development of PiL/HiL systems using NI hardware & software</li>
<li>Knowledge of NI TestStand, NI VeriStand, NI LabVIEW</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Additional Desirable Experience: </strong></p>

<ul>
<li>Experience with Python</li>
<li>Experience with test frameworks</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Agile SW Development methodologies, Unit Testing, Continuous Integration and Dev-Ops desirable</li>
<li>Knowledge of Versions Control Systems, preferably Git and Azure DevOps</li>
<li>Knowledge of additional XiL in the loop testing methodologies for example Software in the Loop highly desirable</li>
<li>Knowledge on Modelling, specifically Mathworks - Matlab, Simulink</li>
<li>Strong documentation and writing skills</li>
</ul>
