Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood has a collaborative maintenance contract with Seqwater to deliver leading maintenance services in the water industry. These projects cover Southeast Queensland across multiple locations, assisting Seqwater to provide water for more than 3 million people. <br><br>One of Seqwater's current major projects is the South West Pipeline, connecting Beaudesert to the SEQ Water Grid, ensuring a reliable long-term water supply for the Scenic Rim by making it easier to move water into the region when needed. <br><br>As the Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor on this project, your role will be to promote and lead a positive and collaborative approach to safety with Seqwater's design and construction partners, while working with the project team to support the safe and successful delivery of the project., <br><br>This role is based at Beaudesert for 12 months, with the possibility of extension. At this time, we will only consider applications from Australian citizens or those with the required permit/VISA for this region, in place. <br><br>Working closely with the Project Manager and Project Team, <b> key responsibilities </b> include: <br><ul><li> Partnering with leaders and employees to provide support and advice in accordance with Seqwater's Work Health and Safety policies and procedures, legislation, regulations and codes of practice </li><li> Supporting the consistent application of the relevant provisions of the project Health and Safety Management Systems and WHS Management Plans by Delivery Partners </li><li> Scheduling, facilitating, and managing project health and safety assurance & compliance activities </li><li> Undertaking project Critical Control verifications and other safety related verification activities </li><li> Monitoring the effective implementation of Principal Contractor's WHS Management Plans and Seqwater's safety performance expectations </li><li> Lead investigating and resolving any Project HSW issues or complaints raised </li><li> Directing/reviewing incident investigations, hazard identification and audit and inspection activities to ensure improved business outcomes and mitigation of risk </li><li> Effectively leading communication, consultation and participation activities with all stakeholders. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b> Skills </b><br><ul><li> Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills </li><li> Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in contemporary Health, Safety and Wellbeing issues and strategies </li><li> Ability to interpret and apply legislation, regulations, codes of practice & Standards through a SMS </li><li> Demonstrated experience and knowledge of high-risk construction activities and working with Principal Contractors </li><li> Proven experience working collaboratively with Construction contractors on large value projects (Pipeline experience would be advantageous) </li><li> Demonstrated experience in conducting incident investigations, risk assessments and safety audits </li><li> Formal training in Incident Investigation (e.g. ICAM or TapRoot) and Lead Auditor in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (desirable) </li><li> Familiarity with contemporary Occupational toxicology and hygiene practices </li><li> Experience with Traffic Management and the application of the MUTCD (desired). </li></ul><br><b> Qualifications </b><br><ul><li> Relevant Tertiary qualifications (desirable AQF 5 or higher) </li><li> 'C' Class driver's license </li><li> White Card. </li></ul><br> If you're an experienced Health and Safety Advisor, with experience in <b>similar projects</b>, then we are keen to hear from you today! <br><br><b> Applications close Sunday 28 November </b><br><br>Apply now and take the next step in your career with this exciting opportunity! <br><br>Wood recognise the importance of an inclusive and culturally diverse workforce.
