RJF21-217 Occupational Hygienist

<p>We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to become an integral part of our QSHE team based in Norwich.</p>

<p>This role is responsible for the delivery of the Occupational Hygiene program, associated with the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of workplace health risks, across PUK SNS operations. Continual improvement and standardisation of associated monitoring, auditing, and reporting systems forms a core component of the role.</p>

<p>Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with relevant statutory provisions, codes of practice, good practice and industry guidelines and promoting a positive approach to workplace health risks.</p>

<p>This is a full-time office-based role (Mon-Friday) with requirements to visit offshore as operationally required.</p>

<p><strong><u>Key Responsibilities Include:</u></strong></p>

<ul>
<li>Work with medic/HSEA&
39;s and operational teams to review Health Risk Assessments, identifying the hazard category, hazard, health impact, route of entry and required exposure monitoring/health surveillance program required</li>
<li>Deliver occupational hygiene plan associated with exposures and health risks associated with chemical, physical, biological, psychosocial, and ergonomic factors including but not limited to:
<ul>
<li>Hazardous Substance Management and associated COSHH risk assessments</li>
<li>Chemical workplace exposure monitoring for example
<ul>
<li>Natural gas condensate - benzene and other aromatic hydrocarbons e.g toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene</li>
<li>Mercury, lead, chromium III &amp; VI, solvents, cement-based products, welding fume, toxic gases</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Asbestos Management and associated surveys, registers including material and priority risk assessment scores and assessment of exposure</li>
<li>Noise Management and associated surveys, and assessment of exposure</li>
<li>Vibration Management, tool tagging/registers and assessment of exposure</li>
<li>Ionising and non-ionising radiation management and associated local rules and assessment of contamination/exposure</li>
<li>Thermal hazard assessment</li>
<li>Potable water management</li>
<li>Food borne pathogens</li>
<li>Communicable diseases</li>
<li>Mould &amp; Spores</li>
<li>Animal and insect hazards</li>
<li>DSE</li>
<li>Manual handling</li>
<li>Fatigue</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Recommend and design appropriate control strategies</li>
<li>Monitor and evaluate control strategies e.g. LEV/PPE/RPE testing &amp; inspection</li>
<li>Deliver occupational hygiene training program e.g. asbestos awareness, dust down procedure, use and maintenance of PPE/RPE</li>
<li>Ensure adequate assurance processes (inspections and audits) are undertaken of all operational sites (including onshore support centres and NUIs) covering the full range of occupational health and hygiene standards, guidelines and procedures. Ensure coverage of accommodation, welfare and food preparation areas.</li>
<li>Ensure calibration systems for occupational hygiene kit are maintained</li>
</ul>

<p><strong><u>Requirements:</u></strong></p>

<p><strong>Qualifications: </strong></p>

<ul>
<li>Occupational Hygienist working towards achieving or achieved BOHS Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene via either
<ul>
<li>Qualifying BOHS accredited degree or</li>
<li>Combination of BOHS W &amp; P modules</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Experience: </strong></p>

<ul>
<li>Minimum 2 years&
39; experience in the field of occupational hygiene including knowledge of occupational hygiene measurement techniques</li>
<li>Oil &amp; gas experience desirable</li>
<li>Radiation Protection Supervisor experience desirable</li>
</ul>
