<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently looking for a Head of Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Social (HSSE&S) for the Duqm Refinery Project in Oman <br><br>Responsibilities include but not limited to <br><br><ul><li> Provide the leadership, and support necessary to ensure efficient Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Social (HSSE&S) management of the New Refinery Project. The main aim being to create secure, safe and healthy working conditions throughout the site, while protecting the environment and social aspects (concerning workers and community) during both, construction and commissioning operations </li><li> Has advanced level understanding of and communicate to relevant site personnel the contents of the company HSSE&S procedures and work practices, and client procedures. Ensure that such procedures and practices are being effectively applied </li><li> Manage the duties and controls detailed by the Refinery Project HSSE&S related plans, pertaining to health, safety, security, the environment and social requirements, and ensure continuous compliance </li><li> Has an advanced level understanding of the requirements of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001, and ensure sites are managed to these standards </li><li> Identify and manage a suitable programme of HSSE&S training for all the site personnel </li><li> Ensure that the Project Managers, Construction Managers, HSES Managers and the IPMTs are kept up to date on HSSE&S performance, and assist with HSSE&S reviews </li><li> Support the risk assessment processes </li><li> Monitor the effectiveness of Contractor HSSE&S Personnel and training providing support and improvement initiatives where required </li><li> Ensure that all incidents are appropriately investigated and that injury case management is administered to minimize loss. </li><li> Responsible for the Project Emergency Response & Criss Management. Ensure EPC Contractors have up to date plans and conduct regular drills. </li><li> Manage the HSSE&S related interfaces with the OQ and relevant authorities in Oman. As necessary in coordination with EPC Contractors. </li><li> Manage interface with the Lenders' HSSE&S consultant and act the focal point of contract with the consultant. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> A minimum of twenty years' experience in major oil / gas EPC projects in a similar position </li><li> A degree in Engineering or similar is mandatory </li><li> A current relevant health and safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma / IOSH / CSP Certificate or equivalent) </li><li> Full conversant with International HSE standards, codes and industry practices </li><li> Experience and understanding of technical HSE (P&ID, HAZOP, SIL, MOC process etc.) </li><li> Extensive Knowledge of the key HSE Risks and related aspects associated with different phases of an EPC development, including Major Accident Hazard Management, operational and workplace risk management systems and processes </li><li> Extensive experience in the overseeing and monitoring implementation of HSSE&S Management System and HSSE&S Plans by contractors and subcontractors on site to ensure effective control of risks </li><li> Audit experience is required </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
