Wood is currently looking for a Learning &amp; Development Specialist to strengthen our team in Basra, Iraq. This is a site-based position on a 4 Weeks On / 4 Weeks Off rotation<br />
<br />
Principal Accountabilities<br />
<br />
Technical / Operations</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<ul>
<li>Hands on approach to delivering all aspects of work required to support the implementation of the OPITO certified training centre at Basrah University.</li>
<li>Flexible can-do attitude to developing solutions and changes to scope if required.</li>
<li>Providing technical advice and guidance to Client and University stakeholders</li>
<li>Monitor and ensure the integrity of the development process</li>
<li>Organise and conduct assessments and review of the work as it completes</li>
<li>Support and contribute to the technical development and maintenance of Global Qualifications Curriculum and Criteria</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with the developed QMS</li>
<li>Contribute to ensure that centre meets the required OPITO Approval Criteria</li>
<li>Adherence to all BGC HSE and Company rules and guidelines.</li>
<li>Health &amp; Safety / Quality Assurance</li>
<li>Main functions may include some or all of the following:</li>
<li>Hands on approach to delivering all aspects of work required to support the implementation of the OPITO certified training centre at Basrah University.</li>
<li>Flexible can-do attitude to developing solutions and changes to scope if required.</li>
<li>Assist the Project Manager to maintain the quality assurance of the Project Accreditation system against a robust and fully auditable process (approved by third party accreditation body)</li>
<li>Responsible for ensuring that the necessary corrective actions are taken when non-conformances have been identified</li>
<li>Responsible for ensuring that training/assessments delivered meet the specified requirements of the qualificaiton criteira and global and delivered in a safe environment</li>
<li>Responsible for ensuring that all activities of the job role and supervised positions comply with applicable Health &amp; Safety legislation, and that personnel under the job holder&
39;s responsibility are not subjected to situations of unacceptable risk, e.g. by updating travel risk assessments</li>
</ul>

<li>This role demands that the incumbent will have the ability to work with minimal supervision and in an unsupervised capacity</li>
<li>Effective liaison with quality and administrative functions to ensure the quality of service provided by administration support remains relevant to the project process</li>
</ul>

Planning &amp; Organization</p>

<ul>
<li>Support the management of the project in actioning the project plan</li>
<li>Developing and implementing activities, ensuring close out of any subsequent remedial action</li>
<li>Undertakes own duties with little or no supervision, contributing to own and team targets and objectives in line with delivering against stated business objectives in the project plan</li>
<li>Responsible for planning of the activities associated to the role, ensuring that resources are deployed on an efficient and cost-effective basis as per annual business plan</li>

<li>Regular travel to Iraq and work with our Client in supporting the development of Basra University.</li>

<li>Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and influencing skills</li>
<li>Comprehensive understanding of the Organization&
39;s key business drivers from both an operational and commercial perspective</li>
<li>Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Qualification Approval Criteria and Global Qualifications</li>
<li>Comprehensive understanding and experience of the Oil and Gas Industry</li>
<li>Sound knowledge of management systems and processes</li>
<li>Experience of managing and working with training and delivery centres</li>
<li>Extensive experience of vocational qualifications and associated frameworks</li>
<li>Appreciation of, and ability to articulate at all levels, the value of learning and skills strategies to enhance organizational performance</li>
<li>Ability to plan projects and organize the work of self and others in achieving outcomes</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills including listening</li>
<li>Client focused with a strong business awareness</li>
<li>Strong influencing and negotiation skills</li>
<li>Good team working skills</li>
<li>IT literate with experience of MS Office</li>
<li>Have experience of working within the upstream oil and gas industry.</li>
<li>Understand Centres&
39; performance requirements</li>
<li>Understand the review processes for Candidate evidence with assesors and verifiers</li>
<li>Provide feedback, advice and support to the project team with regards to Centre Approval Centre;</li>
<li>Develop Centres&
39; lists of Assessors, Internal Verifiers and External Witnesses who are involved in assessment and internal verification activities for each Standard/ Qualification on an annual basis.</li>
<li>Occupational competence in one/all of the following:</li>
<li>Oil and Gas Process Operations</li>
<li>Oil and Gas Control and Instrumentation</li>
<li>Oil and Gas Mechanical Engineering</li>
<li>Oil and Gas Electrical Engineering</li>
</ul>
