Junior Electrical Technologist

<p><b>Overview / Responsibilities </b><br />

Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Electrical Engineering Technologist. Reporting to the Electrical Discipline Manager in our Fredericton, N.B. office. This role involves the design of industrial projects from conception to construction. These duties may include:</p>

<ul>
<li>Preparation of engineering drawings such as panel layouts, AC &amp; DC schematics, wiring diagrams and cable schedules using CAD software and with support from drafter</li>
<li>Preparation of engineering calculations</li>
<li>Development of material take-offs and bill of materials</li>
<li>Handling of project drawings and documents, including assisting with issuing deliverable packages</li>
<li>Visits to client sites during various project stages</li>
<li>Participate in internal and client technical meetings</li>
<li>Manage own time to deliver tasks on-time and on-budget</li>
</ul>

<p><b>Skills / Qualifications</b></p>

<ul>
<li>Electrical Technology Diploma from a recognized institution</li>
<li>Familiarity with utility substation protection and control design is considered an asset</li>
<li>Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation - an asset</li>
<li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (ex. Project, Excel, Word, etc.)</li>
<li>Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume and deadline-driven environment</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and decision-making skills</li>
<li>Positive attitude and ability to effectively work in a team atmosphere is imperative</li>
<li>Committed to continual improvement and achieving engineering excellence</li>
<li>Excellence in writing reports and reviews</li>
<li>Proven ability in analyzing and solving technical problems</li>
