Mount Sinai Queens is in need of a House Supervisor (Assistant Director of Nursing) for the evening shift, 4 days a week. Shifts are 3p-12 p with EOW at 12-hours 7a-7p with rotating holidays at 12-hour shifts. Roles & Responsibilities: The Nursing Administrator is a registered professional nurse with progressive administrative experience who supports Clinical Nurse Managers and Clinical Directors of clinical unit groups/specialty areas to fulfill responsibilities for overall management of the hospital and patient care services on assigned shifts. Assists clinical nurses to solve patient care problems and to develop patient management and leadership skills. Oversees patient care delivery, throughput, staffing, and processes to ensure efficient and effective operations during assigned shift. Supports, implements, and interprets the philosophy, objectives, policies, and standards for nursing care of patients and families. Investigates patient complaints and applies appropriate interventions as necessary. Refers to follow-up solutions to clinical nurse manager or another appropriate person. Assists nursing personnel to establish and implement safety standards and to monitor the environment for hazards. Assists nursing staff with needle-stick injury follow-up as per Blood and Body Fluids Exposure policy (Infection Control policy). Evaluates nursing staff performance and mentors, coaches, counsels, and discipline staff as needed. Responds to various hospital emergencies and escalates to appropriate leadership, including acting as incident commander during evening/night shifts and weekends/ holidays. Requirements: Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing required; Masters in nursing or health care related field preferred. 3-5 years minimum clinical nursing experience with supervisory experience. The salary range for the role is $143,000.00 - $150,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
