<div class="mds-edited-text mds-font-body-copy-bulk"><p>Central is currently recruiting for a<strong> Support Worker </strong>in the <strong>Hammersmith & Fulham</strong> area. The service is a "Warm Space" to provide space for people from the area to go throughout the winter. It will focus on keeping people warm, enabling them to charge devices, serving a light meal and providing activities. The service provision is for adults only and will be aimed at people on benefits who are unable to afford heating and energy. </p>
<p>The successful candidate will be required to work <strong>37.5 hours per week</strong>, working across<strong> Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM</strong>. Cover is required for approximately <strong>2 months</strong> with the possibility of extension. The pay rate for this role is £14.07 per hour, with £2.41 holiday pay, totalling<strong> £16.48 per hour</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>In this position, you will be expected to; </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Set up the warm space each day, ensuring the space is clean and hygienic, food and drinks are stored correctly and are made available for those using the service and the general environment is kept warm, welcoming and organised ready for the space to open        </li>
<li>Jointly lead and participate in the daily operations of the warm space</li>
<li>Actively engage with people using the service in a friendly, supportive manner. Ensure that light meals, snacks and drinks are available, as well as to support with signposting to other services</li>
<li>Manage the number of people using the warm space and ensure that we can safely evacuate the building at all times.</li>
<li>Record all data from daily attendances on our systems</li>
<li>Support the Lead Project Worker in checking and maintaining stock levels of supplies daily and to reorder/arrange timely delivery as necessary</li>
<li>Help safely close down the warm space at the end of daily service, ensuring that the building is left in a safe, secure condition </li>
<li>Flag any concerns and seek guidance and support from the Service Director or the Team Manager, as necessary</li>
<li>Monitor the condition of the building and its furniture and fixings and to report all maintenance concerns to the building management team. </li>
<li>Process petty cash and payments in accordance with the projects policies and procedures</li>
</ul>
<p>Please note; although the warm space does have a regular cleaner, during working hours and for health and safety reasons following COVID-19, cleaning duties will be required to maintain standards of hygiene and to keep both staff and guests safe</p>
<p><strong>To apply for this role, you must have; </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience working with homelessness and mental health </li>
<li>Experience advocating on behalf of service users</li>
<li>Experience working in a day centre and engaging directly with service users  </li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Further requirements:</strong></p>
<p>In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:</p>
<ul>
<li>Current valid right to work in the UK</li>
<li>Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)</li>
<li>A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £50)</li>
<li>Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process</li>
