The technical trainer is responsible for coordinating with SME's from R&D, services, and support teams to update literature and materials to be used in training programs (videos, technical work instruction, etc.). He is a custodian to keep up-to-date and exercises to enhance learning objectives to account for new capabilities or changes in business objectives. <br><br><b> Duties & Responsibilities </b> seeks areas for improvement </li></ul><br> OPERATIONS <br><ul><li> Responsible for delivery of training, technical competency development, and career progression requirements: <ul><li> Coordinate all talent management solutions for the Digital Solutions team </li><li> Provide training support for all clients including drilling operations for oil and gas production, geothermal energy, and carbon capture in subsurface reservoirs </li><li> Assist with developing and delivering a training program to solve customers' challenges for digital transformation in the drilling and production domain </li><li> Provide technical leadership to multi-disciplinary projects/Product Lines when required </li></ul></li><li> Proficiency in all aspects of the technical training development and delivery, and managing the technical competency development activities such as but not limited to: <ul><li> Ensure technical training documentation is relevant and up to date </li><li> Create, maintain, and sustain Training & Competency documentation standards and follow them </li><li> Work with the Global Technical Development, Infrastructure Team, and other Product Lines' Training and Competency Managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Instructional Designers </li></ul></li><li> Develop and deliver real-time drilling operations, engineering and optimization training including: <ul><li> Drilling rig control systems and automation applications for effective operational control </li><li> Review drilling data and plan a well including BHA assembly, mud program, casing program etc. </li><li> Evaluate stuck pipe problems and avoid potential problems </li><li> Evaluate and maintain drilling fluids to optimize hole cleaning </li><li> Design and implement bit and hydraulics programs </li><li> Incorporate directional drilling and deviation control </li><li> Recognize and evaluate well-control problems </li><li> Evaluate and apply the results of an API drilling fluids report to maximize drilling operations and minimize non-productive time </li><li> Minimize formation damage to optimize well producibility </li><li> Review offset analysis and data gathering </li><li> Identify trajectory design issues and their influence on torque and drag, wellbore stability, and future intervention </li><li> Optimize hydraulics for each hole interval based upon wellbore, fluids, and drill string configurations </li><li> Interpret TVD, polar and rectangular coordinates, and vertical section </li><li> Provide well monitoring, limits, alarms, and suspension of operations for reducing unscheduled events, and operations within technical limits </li><li> Calculate and report KPI's for non-productive rig time, identification of Invisible Lost Time (ILT), cost per lateral foot, footage per day, rotary ROP, slide percentage, connection time, on bottom percentage </li></ul></li><li> Adhere to Training department policies and procedures. work with Training and Competency Manager to deliver training projects- whether large, region, or impact ensuring that all milestones of budget and timeline are met in line with project objectives </li><li> Facilitate pre- and post-training client sessions that determine needs/challenges, address client questions, manage expectations and resolve concerns to exceed clients' expectations and meet internal quality, time, and budget constraints </li><li> Lead, mentor, and train team members for the effective development of learning and competence standards, content improvement, and domain development </li><li> Remain current on industry regulations, developments, and the technical community. Contribute to the global technical society in thought leadership exercises and advisory boards </li><li> Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level </li><li> Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the job </li></ul><br> COMMUNICATION <br><ul><li> Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external </li></ul><br> FINANCIAL <br><ul><li> All employees have an accountability to the organisation to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses </li><li> Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure </li></ul><br> PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT <br><ul><li> Employees have a responsibility for developing their own careers within the Company including completing all necessary function, compliance & business standards training to enhance their knowledge, skills and experience </li><li> Employees should engage on a regular basis with their line manager to discuss their personal performance, objectives and opportunities to enhance their skills and experience to support their career potential </li></ul> <br><br><b> Qualifications </b><br><br><b> Experience & Education </b> <br><br>REQUIRED <br><ul><li> BA/BS/BE Degree or equivalent work experience </li><li> 7+ years of relevant industry experience including working in international locations and 3+ years as a Technical Trainer </li></ul><br><br>PREFERRED <br><ul><li> Experience with VB Script, C
(or other .NET language) is a plus </li><li> Previous IT or Enterprise Software experience preferred </li><li> Working knowledge of Oil & Gas Industry is a plus </li></ul><br><br>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities <br><br>REQUIRED <br><ul><li> Ability to manage, motivate and assess a dynamic work group </li><li> Demonstrated ability to effectively train and mentor personnel in classroom and field environments. </li><li> Knowledge of technical training program design and development techniques </li><li> Ability to plan, delegate, schedule and monitor results </li><li> Good oral and written communication skills are a necessity </li></ul><br> PREFERRED <br><ul><li> Technical minded and very knowledgeable in the product line category </li></ul>
