<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting for a HSE Technician to support the CATS Terminal in Teeside. <br><br><b> Role </b> <br><br>Provides support, assurance and advice on all matters relating to the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE). <br><br> Promote an enthusiastic HSE culture that delivers positive commitment to, and engages all employees in, continuous performance improvement. <br><br><b> Responsibilities </b> <br><ul><li> Monitor site safety standards via daily worksite visits, formal inspections, and audits </li><li> Contribute to risk assessments as appropriate </li><li> Create confined space rescue plans </li><li> Main COSHH, Manual Handling and PUWER assessor at site </li><li> Maintain breathing apparatus equipment and records </li><li> Approved gas tester level 1, including supporting when sampling is required and providing three yearly assessments to existing AGTs </li><li> Noise at work competent person for site including annual noise surveys and update NEMS as required </li><li> Contribute towards developing and implementing annual HSE objectives </li><li> Maintain compliance with HSE legislative requirements </li><li> Undertake routine monitoring of work controls systems to ensure compliance with local and corporate polices, standards and procedures </li><li> Writing of technical documents such as procedures, management documents, investigation reports and audits </li><li> Provide cover for other HSE personnel at site </li><li> Contribute to HSE communication forums (i.e., HSE reps' meetings) </li><li> Maintain Active Monitoring program </li><li> Promptly alert line and functional management to accidents, incidents and near misses and where appropriate be involved in the investigation and ensure that the findings are reported and appropriately shared </li><li> Lead the emergency response team (ERT) including providing necessary on-site training </li><li> Ensure Fire and Safety equipment is maintained correctly, and schedules are up to date </li><li> Assist with the identification of HSSE training needs and monitor delivery and recording </li><li> Provide training and coaching to the workforce including toolbox talks, control of work tools, risk assessment and safety observations creating lesson plans and presentations as required </li></ul><br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b>Skills/Qualifications</b> <br><ul><li> NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent </li><li> Incident Investigation training </li><li> Demonstrable experience in a HSE role within the energy industry or similar </li><li> HSE coaching and training delivery </li></ul> <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
