Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, protected veteran status or other characteristics protected by law. <br><br><b> Responsibilities </b><br><br>Manages and executes global trade compliance legal strategy for Asia Pacific region. <br><ul><li> Leads, monitors, and supervises internal trade compliance investigations and implementation of accompanying remediation and discipline. </li><li> Advises on areas of trade compliance vulnerability and risks through formal training as well as day-to-day advice and counsel. </li><li> Assists with the execution of trade compliance due diligence procedures relating to proposed third-party intermediaries, vendors, joint ventures, and M&A. </li><li> Monitors external developments in trade compliance, including laws/regulations, government investigations, and industry best practices. </li><li> Participates in trade compliance related projects, as needed. </li><li> Understands and complies with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford. </li><li> Performs various other and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Qualifications </b><br><br>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS <br><ul><li> Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active law license. Ability to practice law in APAC. </li><li> Minimum of 5+ years of practicing experience. </li><li> Legal experience in the oilfield service industry and prior management experience, strongly preferred. </li><li> Multilingual ability is a plus. </li><li> Strong preference for role to be located in a Weatherford office in the Asia Pacific. </li></ul><br><br>SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE <br><ul><li> Excellent sense of humor, teamwork/interpersonal skills. </li><li> Expert knowledge of US export and sanctions regulations. </li><li> Ability to interpret non-US trade regulations as needed. </li><li> Significant knowledge of customs regulations strongly preferred. </li><li> Expert English language communication skills (both oral and written). </li><li> Expert ability to write investigation reports, disclosures, and internal memos in English with minimal coaching or editing. </li><li> Excellent organizational skills and presentation skills. Experience presenting to senior leaders. </li><li> Ability to handle sensitive, confidential matters and exercise sound discretion and judgment. </li><li> Capable of working independently, assuming significant responsibility, and being a self-starter. </li><li> Ability to effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals in addressing complex issues. </li></ul>
