<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently looking for <b>HSSE Advisor</b> to provide specialist support to our Qatar office on a staff basis. <br><br><b>Job Purpose:</b> <br><br> The HSSE Advisor will support the Qatar Operations Manager in ensuring the implementation of the Company's Health & Safety, Security and Environmental management system and the delivery of Wood's HSSE goals. <br><br><b> Functional Competencies </b> <br><br><b> Analytical Thinking </b> <br><br> Ability to identify issues, obtain relevant information, relate and compare data from different sources and identify alternative solutions. <br><br><b> Client Customer Services </b><br><br> Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers (internal and external) by listening to the client/customer and understanding and responding to identified needs. <br><br><b> Written Communication </b> <br><br> Ability to develop and deliver written information to individuals or groups to ensure that they understand the message. <br><br><b> Intiative </b><br><br> Ability to acting pro-actively, taking prompt action to accomplish objectives <br><br><b> Responsibilities </b> <br><br>The HSSE Advisor will assist in; <br><ul><li> Support the Qatar management team in implementing and assuring compliance with both Country and Company HSSES Requirements. </li><li> Provide inputs to proposals, including narratives and statistical data; </li><li> Collating statistical data; </li><li> Undertake audits as required; </li><li> Investigating incidents arising in the Qatar Business; </li><li> Reviewing and actioning HEART observation records; </li><li> Development of HSSE communications. </li></ul><br> <b> Change and Adaptability </b> <br><br> Readily adapts to changing circumstances; gains awareness for, and an understanding of, the position of stakeholders <br><br><b> I ntiative </b> <br><br> Undertakes self-development activities; Volunteers readily; seeks increased responsibilities <br><br><b> Interpersonal communications </b> <br><br> Expresses ideas and exchanges information clearly ad persuasively; communicates openly and honestly to all levels of the organisation; actively listens and seeks to understand other's point of view. <br><br><b>Planning, organising and execution</b> <br><br> Prioritise and plans work activities; uses time efficiently <br><br><b>Problem Solving</b> <br><br> Identifies issues in a constructive manner and recommends solutions' uses innovative and novel approaches to find solutions; grasps new or unfamiliar concepts quickly and can effectively deal with complexity and ambiguity. <br><br><b> Teamwork </b> <br><br> Assumes joint responsibility for work activities; work collaboratively and cooperatively with colleagues to accomplish shared goals; shares information to build/strengthen relationships with peers <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><b>Minimum Qualifications and Experience</b> <br><br> The following are the minimum qualifications and level of experience required to perform the essential functions of the role. <br><br> <b>Qualifications</b> <br><ul><li> NEBOSH Occupational Health and Safety Certificate (Minimum) </li><li> Internal Auditor OHSAS 18001 (preferred) </li></ul><br> <b>Experience</b> <br><ul><li> A minimum of 5-years in HSSE-related roles </li><li> Good understanding of HSSE issues on projects </li><li> Good literacy and numeracy skills, including report writing skills (English) </li><li> Working knowledge of Microsoft Office package </li><li> Ability to prioritise work and work within defined deadlines </li><li> Confident, proactive and highly motivated in seeking and undertaking new tasks and responsibilities </li></ul><br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
