Truck Driver - Semi - (Articulated)

<b> Overview / Responsibilities </b><br><br>Wood is currently recruiting Truck Drivers Semi Trailer (Articulated) to join our team in Hides Gas Conditioning Plant, Hides, Hela Province Papua New Guinea on rotational schedule. Reporting to the Logistics and Materials Supervisor, the Driver will be required to transport materials, equipment, and accessories within Hides areas and to and from Hides to other locations as directed. <br><br><b> RESPONSIBILITIES: </b> <br><ul><li> Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order </li><li> Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles </li><li> Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate </li><li> Communicate necessary information to bases, supervisors, or other drivers </li><li> Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned </li><li> Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers </li><li> Load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading, operating any special loading-related equipment on vehicles and using other equipment as necessary </li><li> Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods </li><li> Perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires and installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs when necessary. </li></ul> <br><br><b> Skills / Qualifications </b><br><br><ul><li> Current valid Commercial Drivers' License with appropriate endorsements </li><li> 5 years minimum experience in operating Semi Trailer (Articulated) trucks </li><li> Equipment Maintenance - Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed </li><li> Ability to follow instructions and meet set standards for hauling and scheduling </li><li> Good eyesight with the ability to judge distances </li><li> Good hand-eye coordination </li><li> To be comfortable working at heights </li><li> To be safety conscious </li><li> Ability to work as part of a team. </li></ul><br> This role is open to PNG Nationals only. <br><br>If you're an experienced Truck Driver ready for your next project, then we are keen to hear from you today. <br><br>Apply now and take the next step in your career with this exciting opportunity! <br><br><b> Company Overview </b><br><br>Wood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's most critical challenges.
